Hi guys,

Just a little request for help. I'm working on building a model of the Moldy Crow... Work in Progress.

I'm trying to get some shots of the in-game model (from Dark Forces and DF2)for reference. I was hoping someone here would have some good shots of the model, or possibly the 3D (any format readable by 3Dmax or rhino would be fine). I don't have the game (anymore) and am way too green in the whole game developing thingy to get it myself.

Any help would be appreciated.

How about directions to a viewer for the 3D? Could someone provide the file of the Crow?

Your model looks good, if all you need are the textures I bet someone could get those converted and sent your way pretty quick.

I managed to get the game model from one of the guys who worked on DF though it is without textures.. so... any help?

Someone must have textures.gob handy surely?

I've not set up for editing since last time I reinstalled Windows, but if no-one else replies then tonight I'll see if I can't pull out the BMs and convert them for you.

Failing that surely someone could quickly go into Anoat City or Fuel Station (from the top of my head those are the original levels where the Crow stays parked for the whole time) and take a few close-ups?

Obviously those got sliced up for each of the polygons that make up that 3d model, but that should cover everything.

I never thought the in-game model looked like the same textures as the cutscene model.

The still image of the Moldy Crow was higher resolution in the Macintosh version and I keep it on my old site. It appears to be the same model that appears in the DF2 videos:

The videos from DF2 feature the hero model of the Crow in action. (The original videos look better than YouTube of course.)

I would be surprised if the cutscene model WASN'T different. The motto for pre-rendered 3D content back then was "use as many polies as possible". The idea being it would make it look more real. Somehow.
