Yeah for those who remember that Detention Level made by a person named max duckwall correct.... well believe it or not he's me hehheh (I believe i mentioned in another topic but might as well mention it here as well). Anyway since I have Dark Forces working on this computer I was hoping to try my hand at making Dark Forces maps again. Just one little problem, I'm on Windows Vista and I was wondering if there was anyway to setup Wedit or WDFuse to load DosBox and Dark Forces to test the levels and also some advice would be really appreciated.

Well WDFuse runs DARK.PIF right? PIF was a really old shortcut format used to launch DOS programs back in Windows 3.11 (and to a lesser degree in Windows 9x/ME). You could probably point that PIF to DOSBox, and add parameters to start up Dark Forces ... not sure if PIF files can load Windows programs but you can try.
If you know any programming you can also rename DARK.EXE to something else and make a fake DARK.EXE which launches DOSBox and runs the real Dark Forces.

I have Vista. What I was doing was kind of a round about way. WDFUSE works fine in Vista, so I used that to edit a level. I also went into the options and unchecked the option to run DF when gobing the level. I then made a .bat file to run the level in DosBox (since DFUSE gobs the level in the Dark directory I just put the .bat in there). I finally ran DosBox and ran the bat file to test the level.
I found out that you have to close DosBox every time you're finished with it, though, because, at least for me, while it was open it would use too much memory and WDFUSE would not display the map or grid or anything veryy well.
Mega_ZZTer, I'm not sure that you could make a program that would do that, but it might be fun to try and figure soemthing like that out.
