I think McDonald's claims are unreasonable... The American English Language is shaped by the public that uses it, not billion-dollar corporations, who demand to always be seen in the best possible light.

McDonalds needs to get into reality and realize that unless you're a teenager looking for a good part-time job, flipping burgers at a fast food joint for minimum wage is a dead end job. The fact that they pay minimum or barely above is part of the reason it is a dead end job.

That being said, it IS a job, and there are a lot of people who are feeding their families off of a McDonalds or a Burger King job. There is something good to be said for people working to support their family, no matter what the job.

While it's true that some families live off of wages earned from fast-food service, the vast majority of people (>80%, I'm guessing) have easily enough skill and ability that could be applied to a job with much better pay.

Of course, I don't believe that the CEO can really have much to say that would have any real value... I doubt he's ever EATEN from McDonalds... And I don't think rising to be a location manager makes for much of a career manager, when you're talking about restaurants like McD's...

Of course, I don't know how much value MY say would have here, as I live in a family with many small businesses... And as such, I've never worked a "McJob"...
