I have already captured video from DarkXL using FRAPS - so that works fine.

The engine plays VOC files natively so they play cleanly. The goal is to match the timing and speed of the original Dark Forces as played in DOS or DosBox. I've been tweaking the cutscene playback speed so that the timing matches the sound without clipping. And it does take into account the playback speed as specified in the cutscene.lst file.

Granted there are still bugs, but you can try the current version of the Alpha Demo. There is a new release coming soon that'll have a lot more features/fixes as well. You can get the demo here: http://df-21.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php_t=1211

Hey lucius if you plan on making a trailer still for DarkXL could you use some parts from my video for it. Just asking Smile

I haven't pushed for the trailer because I decided (after some people mentioned it) that I should wait until the next release. There are a number of reasons for this: proper hud fonts and text displays, proper elevator speeds, no more jittering when going up or down elevators, proper titlescreen and cutscenes and finally alot more content - Talay and the Sewers - to take video from so its not just SecBase which I'm sure everyone is sick of.Smile

Once the release comes out I'll probably do some gameplay videos myself (so I can get them out quickly) and then hopefully have someone in the community do a nice trailer video (my video editing skills are lacking, i.e. I've never done it before). At that point, if you want to contribute a video of the new build - please do.Smile Your last video was nice, so if you make a new one when the time comes I'm sure it'll be worth including.

Lucius, just wanted to check and see what the progress of your project is? looks great, and i am very interested and will follow as things develop. thanks a lot for the immense effort on this.
