Showing Burning Gundam's Force Crystal in DarkXL was a success, so to continue encouraging the mod revival here is some screenshots from Burning Gundam's Ransom on Tarsalus levels.
I went kind of crazy with the screenshots, this isn't all of them
I may have mixed some up from Level 1 and 3, though most should be right.
Level1 :
Level 2 (this one is really short right now):
Level 3 (this one is pretty long too):
As usual, any comments are welcome.

If the hud and 2d gun didn't give it away, I would have thought it was Jedi Knight, or mabye Jedi Outcast. Those shots just look more 3d and higher-res with DarkXL.

The last one looks amazing You wouldn't expect that kind of 3d environment in a Dark Forces level. I think the mouse look and no vertical restrictions will really help change our perspective on DF levels. (Ummm . . .
)
Hey, Burning Gundam, you may want to change some of the textures in the sewer level to something less redundant . . . I mean mainly the textures with square borders, such as the far walls on the second and third level 2 screenshots . . . they look a little misplaced . . .
Other than that, the level looks great, especially in DarkXL Good job!
I wish it was possible to use larger floor textures for the sewage, but until we have a DarkXL-compatible editor, it won't be possible

Maybe an editor is lucius' next project.

That last shot is really amazing.
Now that the HOM problem is gone, someone need to make something adjoin-crazy.

Mind you, the sewers level has mainly just that room and that hallway for now. I've barely touched it.
I do plan on making some rather interesting atmosphere's for that level so it won't be say a larger remake of DF's level 3.
And Lucius, do you not have middle "adjoined" textures working yet? A lot of those areas had windows or other mid textures of sorts.

Wow, that's looking really good. I especially like the cityscape pics, like the 7th one down (looking up), and the last one is nice. For a minute there I thought that was one my switches being used on the elevator pic but then I realized it's one of Patrick Haslow's. All around though, everything is looking great guys!

Here are some shots of areas that have transparent midtextures, which now work:
Level 1:
Level 2:
Level 3:

Bwah hah hah... well it finally happened. My XP partition contracted a trojan
And since my anti-virus doesn't seem to be doing anything about it, I'm just going to do a clean install and start from the beginning.
NOW
Before you freak out, I have all my projects backed up on my external drives so that remains unaffected and will continue work as soon as I get XP re-installed.
The bummer however is in order to do a re-install, I need to upgrade my Boot Camp Beta with the Mac OX Leopard DVD which my dad unfortunately has at his office so I can't upgrade until next week.
On the flip-side, at least I'll be able to still work on some textures and what-not.
Guess I'll have to tread lightly in the interwebs from now on...

Update!!!!
Bought myself an install disc for Mac OS X (A good idea for me to have anyway) and am repartitioning my drive as I write this.
I should be back up and running later today once I re-install all my components and stuff.
All I can say is thank goodness for external drives

It's good to have an OS X disc, but since your hard drive was already partitioned you didn't really need Boot Camp Assistant to function. It would have been possible to reformat the existing, infected partition with Disk Utility and boot from the Windows install disc by holding down the Option key at startup with the disc in the drive. The Boot Camp driver disc image could be extracted from the Boot Camp beta by right-clicking the Boot Camp Assistant and showing package contents, and the CD image file is in there which could be burned with Disk Utility. But you'll have newer drivers if you got Leopard; the beta drivers would not have supported the latest service packs of XP or Vista.

Well, you see...
I had accidentally deleted the Setup Assistant thinking it was the beta
But it ended up working out anyway. It's just a good idea (I think) to have a copy lying around somewhere. I can't rely on my dad for that kind of stuff forever.
I ended up partitioning a bigger drive and formatted it to be more efficient (instead of FAT, I formatted to NTFS.. or something) now that I use Windows a bit more regularly. I didn't use it much before I knew Lucius was working on DarkXL but ever since then I have been diligently working on my projects.
Sucks I'm still at work right now, I really want to get back to work on this thing...

I prefer FAT because to me Mac OS X being able to write to it is more useful than whatever Windows gets from NTFS, which is read-only in Mac OS X. Of course if you have a third FAT-formatted volume such as a flash drive or CD-RW, or any network storage, you can still transfer data between partitions.

Hence my external drives
I actually just load programs on the c: drive on both OS's should something bad happen to either and leave all my Data on external sources.
The system works and to me is an easier way of keeping everything organized.

Okay, so perhaps I can solicit a few ideas from my colleagues here at DF-21.
I have been having a bit of designer's block and have been having a hard time coming up with ideas for the first level. I like the way the city looks so far, but it's getting to that point that I've focused too much on detail and nothing on gameplay.
So what I need are ideas to make the surroundings a bit more interactive and useful rather than just eye candy.
If I could describe it in basic terms, it would be like saying that (unfortunately) it's like walking from point A to Point B. At the moment there isn't much in terms of puzzles and physical challanges which worries me a little because I've spent so much time just working on the layout and I completely disregarded those aspects.
So any ideas would be a great help to me. And Lucius, I know you saw most of the level when you did screenshots, do you have any ideas?
