I've added a couple of screenshots on the Lava Planet project page - take a look if you're interested. Webmasters, if you think they deserve it (I'm not so sure), you can treat them also as the nominations for the Screenshot of the week contest.

Looking very promising! I'm glad you decided to do more DF editing Fish. I look forward to the soundtracks also.
I recommend replacing the splash.wax with a flames wax like in Rising Fire- unless there are water areas. If there are both, then either you will have water splashing out of your lava or lava splashing out of your water. I recommend sticking with oodles of lava, and do an animation for it with the texture INF command.
While I'm at it, why don't I just take over your whole project? Heh.

Those look great! They're all quality shots (yes, even if one has a hallway that leads nowhere... yet!).
If there are any you'd rather omit, just let me know -- otherwise, I'll include them all in the SotW poll on Thursday.

Nice work... But really, is that a mousbot, or a remote? Or it could be something not quite as nasty, such as a mere turret droid strapped to a DT III... (I tried this once, and the results were rather strange)

Thanks for the suggestions, Patrick. I know the trick with the texture INF command, and I will implement it if it will be easy enough. Actually, there are really many lava stream sectors in the level and many of the sectors have other INF items (the area is volcanic, therefore unstable...).
Game music is something what I'm investing a lot of work in. The whole band does, actually. The band has just recorded the first version of the Lava Planet Theme (title soundtrack), and I dare to say this is maybe the best recording the band has ever done. However, I'd rather wait until you all judge that!
Kevin, just go ahead - include all the screenshots if you like.
Actually, what's waiting behing the column... is not even completely alive.

Ooo... Sounds nice; I always like it when the level blows up in your face while playing it. Makes things much more interesting, you know...

Sounds like it'd be nice. Can we get a sample of it beforehand perhaps, or are we going to have to wait for the whole level?

You mean there's a Massassian behind that collumn?! Which one? Jeff Walters?

Just an update from the other thread. Temporary location of this project's status page is here:
http://www.avion.hr/testovi/test_layout/lavaplanet.htm
(It shall be returned to DF-21 as soon as the new project pages can be uploaded.)

Fish lives!
But yeah, cool to see some more updates... Goodness knows the game needs more of 'em. And while we've seen a good variety of worlds visited in Dark Forces, we've yet to see a volcanic world.

Fish, you ever find the Fortress Quadrigon soundtrack MP3? You gave me the first track, "Among the Shadows", but the second track (the Dark Forces Remix) you couldn't find at the time... I still want! :O
Also Lava Planet looks cool, and possibly hot, lawl.

Unfortunately, not. It seems to have been lost long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. Probably annihilated by my mother during her fits of clean-ups. (She surely did a good thing for the Empire, though.)
However, I will be much more careful with the new soundtracks (stay tuned).

I have it lying around my hard-drive somewhere. I'll upload later if you want it.
With Fish's permission of course

Oh of course, please do. I'd be grateful as well to have the opportunity to return it among the original FQ files. Thanks!

Hope you guys don't mind 160kbs encoding
And I don't know of any suitable hosts to upload to. Do you just want me to email it to you guys?
And Mega, do you think you could send me Among the Shadows? I either didn't download it or I lost it somewhere.

Not bad; I know I'm notoriously lazy with posting updates, but it has been going at steady (although somewhat sluggish) pace throughout the past year or so. It's still too early to announce any release dates, but at least, most of the architecture, textures and plot (version 67.82) is in place.
As it looks that this summer might be particularly rainy around here, maybe that's just what I need to try finishing this level, or at least prepare a useable beta.
