Wheee! I have an image hosting sight now Mr. Green !!

Here are some images from my level Spice Bust on Taloron, spliced from the level Armoured Threat. Again, these aren't final, so just be patient with me.

This one may look familiar. I made a couple of changes to it.

A small restaraunt.

The awsome power of the Zealot X65!!

A small fountain and some cool buildings.

Inside the spaceport control tower.

A cool little control room.

As you can see, the rooms are a little barren. That's because Dark Forge hates me and keep deleting my objects. I'm not going to put the rest in until everything else is finished.

Darn! Another reason to reinstall DF. Too bad I never finished Under Fire, that woulda been an epic series. Maybe next summer I will... Rolling Eyes

It looked like it was almost done. Why not just finish it now?

The truth is that I didn't think I would ever get around to finishing this level (I.E. Plot changes, the need for better texturing, I sucked at INF programming, and I just got bored with it after a while). But now that I have a better idea of what I'm doing, it shouldn't be a problem at all.

There's always that problem of the lack of free time. I have so much crap going on right now, a lot I never expected, but maybe it'll calm down next summer and I can finish it up. I had this awesome conclusion planned, a total plot twist, so it wasnt nearly finished in that last level.

INF used to confuse the hell outta me too, but I read tutorials and vastly improved. I just hope staying away from editing won't rust my memory too much, but I'm a visual person, so I can take the work I've done and apply the INF source elsewhere.... I hope. Very Happy

Yeah, thanks. I kinda didn't want to bug you again, so I took the initiative.

The bulk of the INF is finished. The Level file itself is finished (With the exception of touching up some old areas). All that's really left to do is place the objects and finish some texturing issues.

Soon, my friends, soon (And I mean it this time).

Looks great, but I think that the gun in the top screen is the same as the others, right?

The Sniper T320 is really the auto gun that has been heavily modified. I added a new firing color, a small scope, and a new compression chamber. It may not look very different right now, but if you see it up close and in action, they are very much different.

Here are a few more screenshots.

A TIE Fighter leaving a hanger.

An old area that was redone. It looks soo much better now than it did before.

The SpacePort complex from a different angle.

The outside of the night club.

Joy! So much done and so little to finish! Almost there, guys!!

I'd say you're work's looking pretty good! In fact, It's enough to motivate me to do some more work, and even post some screenies as I'd said I would, as soon as I remember to do so (the computer of mine with DF doesn't have access to the Internet at the moment

Well, I hope this does just as well as everyone says. I just hope it's good enough to be inducted to at least the hall of fame ballet. And then, maybe, I will get the covetted hall of fame for the level!!

:: Wishful thinking ::

Ah, what the hell. Dark Tide 3 and 4 should just be in the Hall of Fame by default, even if they haven't been released. But if I get at least a five star rating, I'll be happy. I put a lot of hard work into editing this level, not to mention some cool puzzles and tricks.

Okay, here is what I would suggest. take a little time to liven it up. I know you said that you haven't put in objects, but when you do use plenty of civilians. looks at Barry's shots, lots of Civs. Right now the level itself looks good, just dead. Also a lot of sound and ships flying spice things up alot.

(Cause you really want to Spice things up, right?)

old skool razz

Don't worry, I had civilians as a major factor anyway. There will also be 3DOs and other cool knick knacks. Everything looks really barren right now, but I assure you, there will be a lot more to it.

GOB log Version 2.0

Sector count: Approximately 2516
Wall Count: A little over 16106 (maybe an extra 0 to the end of that)
Vertice Count: I don't want to fathom what it is.

Level File: 98% complete
INF File: 75% complete
Object File: 5% complete

Added BMs: 60+
Added Objects: 35+
Added 3DOs: 10
Added VUEs: 3

Total Runthrough time (Without doing sidequest and 'sightseeing'): 20 minutes
Total Runthrough time: 30 minutes
Estimated time to completion of mission (For first time players): 45 minutes (Without seeing and doing everything else)
Estimated Firstrun completion (doing everything): 1 hour max.

Estimated time to level completion: 2 weeks+

Things left to be done:

Minor retexturing
Object placement
Final INF runthrough
Textcrawl and Credits (Need someone to do this please)
Beta Testing

Just to give you an idea of what will be in it. This should provide entertainment until DT3 and 4 arrive.

It would be the same as your wall count! Duh. :p

And I'm afraid I don't have time to doa briefing/textcrawl... but I can help you:
- Briefing
1) Extract the SECBASE briefing from the DFBRIEF.LFD file, and use df2 to convert into a bmp
2) Get the DF Font 1.5 (wherever that is)
3) Use the font in paint to enter your briefing... it's easy as pie! Smile
- Text Crawl
1) Extract the textcral from FTEXTCRA.LFD and convert to a BMP.
2) In pant, use the color picup tool to get the color, and then draw a big black rectangle over everything. Now, make a big text box, and make your text-crawl :p

For both of these, of course, you'll need to do some minor tweaking, like moving text and pixels around.

Ummm....I am Mac Man remember?

Unless there is some way to extract that file, I would do it, but at this point, I'd say I still need someone to do it.

Any takers?

I don't want to talk for him, but if Darth Bane has a few spare moments, he may do it for you, he offered to make one for me a while ago, I'd email him.

It doesn't sound all that hard to do, like it would take five minutes or less. I dunno. But before I even think about that, I have to actually write the thing.

As for the level, retexturing and texture stitching is acceptionally complete (there may be a few areas that are wrong, but hardly noticeable). I'm now working on placing scenery objects (And hoping Dark Forge doesn't delete them later on). Then I will move on to enemy placement, and then last minute touches on some areas and sounds. Once that's all down, I'll take a quick run through and make sure nothing is incomplete or bland. Then I'll give a few people the oppertunity to be my beta testers!

Ah, it feels so good to have something almost done, and it took longer than I expected. I've just written out the plot for my next 6 level miniseries (sorry, Prelude to the Phantom will have to wait. This plot is a lot better), so I'll be getting on that when I'm finished.

Sounds cool. If I keep at the rate I'm going, I could have a version ready to go by next week. I'm still working out some kinks in the INF, but I've also started the placement of civilians. Now hopefully Dark Forge won't delete them all within that time. But I was able to place a lot of them last night. I just need to finish scenery placement and then I can move on to enemy placement.

Beta Testers so far: Darth Doctor

Anyone else?

If it's going to be ready in a week or more, I'd be willing to test it.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

And who says you can't do anything on a mac! Twisted Evil

Okay, I just fixed a couple of my custom civilian waxes (so they die correctly), added some new sounds for the assualt cannon, and fixed the frame rate on the bullets so they aren't as choppy. As of this moment, I'm still putting in scenery, but I'm so close to finishing.

However, things might be slow this coming weekend because my grandma is visiting from pennsylvania and we'll be leaving for Lake Tahoe this weekend (unless I stay behind to go to work). Chances are, I'll have it all finished by then and I can work out the final kinks.

OKAY!!! FOR ALL OF YOU OUT THERE, I AM WRITING MY TEXTCRAWL AND CREDITS TONIGHT! I NEED SOMEONE TO CONVERT THEM TO AN LFD FOR ME.

I'LL THREATEN BY DELAYING MY LEVEL'S RELEASE BY A MONTH IF NO ONE COMPLIES! Twisted Evil
