Ok, so a friend and I decided to go see this tonight. Has anyone else here seen it? Just a few thoughts...
I missed having a textcrawl. Didn't exactly like Anakin's voice, as well as how his character strays from what we're used to. The battles were actually kind of cool. Seeing higher ranking Officers and Commanders on the Republic Star Destroyers was interesting. There was no Jar Jar, but the Ahsoka/Anakin relationship was annoying enough. Jabba's flamboyant gay uncle (who speaks in a Capote/Cartman-esqe basic instead of Huttese)...this is unforgivable, George Lucas. You should have your hand cut off by a lightsaber so you can never write something like this again.
This "movie" started out okay, but I didn't appreciate how it turned from getting an inside look at the Clone Wars to being all about saving Jabba's little booger baby. I know it's supposed to be the beginning of the TV series, but this really just felt like a long trailer or a chapter in a book more than an actual film. I'll give it a VERY generous 2/5.
What are your thoughts?

After what I've seen of the prequel trilogy, I pretty much had my mind made up about that movie, and the review I read didn't change my mind any. The way it was described was that the movie might as well have been three episodes from the TV series.

When I first saw the poster for the movie, it was at some small independent theater hidden away in a not-so-convenient part of town. I honestly thought it was some college student's final project or independent film based on the Clone Wars.
It didn't make any sense on how they would allow that though and it was confirmed when I saw the casting and directors...
I didn't give it a second thought after that and every time I saw it advertised I grimaced. One more nail in the coffin I think.

I watched it with a few of my friends. One was inparticularly dissapointed that it was all just "one big" episode of the clone wars, and that They didnt show General Greavous or any thing of how Windew crushed his core. What outraged me is that, the bitch that was Anniken's aprentice was killed at the start of episode 3. (if you watch the delited scenes) And now im hearing that they are just going to compleatly ignore that and make her live throught the trilogy. I honistly think that the whole clone wars series is deviating from the Star Wars Epic all together. And that combineing this with the origonal trilogy makes it somewhat ackward. And furthermore, will be more ackward if they keep this up.

Actually, I'd heard the reason she was cut from that scene in Episode 3 was because the actress had appeared in some "magazine" after that portion was filmed.

meh, typical publicity. Still I liked that part where they cut into the floor.

Anakin's apprentice and the Jedi that gets killed in the Ep3 deleted scene are two entirely different characters. I believe they are the same race, but his apprentice is named Ahsoka and the one in Ep3 is named Shaak Ti if I remember correctly.

Yep I would have to agree with that.
One thing I thought that could have been interesting was if they had a scene showing how Anakin gets his scar. I was disappointed that he just automatically had it to begin the movie with.
Oh well, it doesn't really matter, I've already tried to forget I ever watched that movie and don't consider it to be as true and important to star wars as the real films.
