DarkXL is now a project on CodePlex. The CodePlex Issue Tracking Service will now be used to track bugs, issues and feature requests for DarkXL. Please use this system when submitting bugs or feature requests.

Issue Tracking:
http://www.codeplex.com/DarkXL/WorkItem/AdvancedList.aspx

In order to submit issues, you need a login. If you don't want to create a new one, simply use the following login:

UserName: darkxl_user
Password: darkxl

Issues will be submitted as "proposed", which will become active if its legitimate and not a duplicate. If you wish to submit a feature request, simply precede the title with [Feature Request] - and it will get changed to a feature request. Issues or features not accepted for whatever reason will be closed, which allows them to be viewed with the proper filter and will indicate why it was not approved. For example a duplicate may read: [Duplicate of #1765].

While forum discussion is encouraged, please use this system when submitting new bugs, issues or feature requests so that they can be properly tracked and sorted - even if they are discussed in the forums. As usual any questions or comments are welcome.

--------------------

Source code is still not released, for reasons I don't want to get into right now ( see the original project thread ), the script files will be hosted on CodePlex. Right now that is only 1 file, but other script files will be added. Eventually this is were the project source code will go - but this is pretty far down the road.

The plan was to make it an Announcement, then change it to a sticky later. But its good as it is now. Laughing

But thank you for looking at it, I appreciate the feedback. Feel free to add any bugs or issues that are not in the list yet.

I'll check it out and add anything else that I remember from the last build.
By the way, I don't have DarkXL installed right now . . . I'm gonna hold of on reconfiguring the fourth computer to run it until the next build Laughing

Thanks for those that started using the Issue Tracker for bug and feature reports.

Just a reminder, if you submit a bug or feature and its not approved it will be closed with a reason indicated in brackets []. A comment on the issue itself may be made as well. To see closed items, go to the Advanced view and double click on Closed in the Status listbox. If you disagree just add a comment to the issue stating why you disagree and we'll talk about it.

In addition approved feature requests will become Active/Feature Request, and will have [Feature Request: Approved] added to the title.
And don't forget that you can sort items, for example looking only at Issues or Features, look at closed items or fixed items or whatever.

And finally I wanted to mention that I didn't add every bug in my list to the Issue Tracker because many of them will be fixed in the next build. However feel free to add them yourself (if they are not in the list already) - it'll help get people used to reporting issues and also make sure that I didn't forget something.

Anyway thanks everyone for participating. It'll be really useful once the new build comes out. Very Happy

So this page is a bit obsolete now, I guess?

Yes, I'm updating the website and when I'm done it'll be removed. Instead it'll link directly to the CodePlex page.

I found a bug in the Issue Tracker, title "Some sign textures (switches) are stretched", which states that some of the switch are rendered incorrectly in DarkXL. However, as far as I am aware all the switches in the supported levels are rendered correctly so I don't know where the problem is.

So I just wanted to stress the importance of giving enough detail in order to be able to reproduce a bug, otherwise its most likely can't be fixed. This can be accomplished by describing the area with the problem and possibly showing screenshots as some people have done.

Anyway thanks for all the reporting going on! I just want to make sure that if you spend your time reporting that it is time well spent.Smile And sorry for calling out this specific bug - but if this doesn't get addressed early it'll be a disaster later.

Yeah, you guys might as well post a bug that says "OMG I FOUND A BUG FIX IT SadSadSad" for all the good it'll do

Even with psychic debugging you have to tell him SOMETHING useful.

I didn't make the entry, but I know that the hand switch on Talay's power generator was stretched.

The entry was clarified after my post here. I'm sure it was just an oversight but I just wanted to stress the issue now instead of waiting for it to become a big issue later. Thanks for trying to clarify it for me though.Smile
