Are there any custom levels where you can actually put the gas mask or ice cleats to use? Maybe the evac (Hoth) level? But I didn't find any gear there - still not played through, though.

I don't think I've ever seen a custom level that uses the ice cleats . . . but plenty of mod levels use the gas mask. Off the top of my head, I can think of a few that I've played recently: Dark Tide 1, Asteroid, and Critak Moon: The Imperial Outpost. The third one isn't hosted on DF-21 as far as I know. I got it from the Admiral's Command Chamber.

Ahh, I was looking under C, thanks.
EDIT: The Command Chamber page I linked to might give you something if you have an account there . . . I don't, so I'm not sure.

Wow, cool thanks  I also found the mask in the Hoth level (Evacuation from Hoth)!

Well almost any level that had some "underwater" segments needed ice cleats.

I think level 2 of Operation Archangel also required the use of ice cleats but I could be wrong.
The first level of the Hoerby Trilogy required ice cleats (for whatever reason, I thought it was unnecessary).
