I'd like to replay the whole saga and I just ended dark forces. Now I am going to play dark forces II but I am confused about mysteries of the sith... should I play dark forces ii first and mysteries second or should I just play myseries of the sith as a enhanced version of dark forces II.
Please help!

Mysteries of the Sith is an expansion sequel, much like Brood War was an expansion sequel to Starcraft.
Play Jedi Knight first, then Mysteries of the Sith.

Mysteries of the Sith takes place after Jedi Knight
The events in MotS simply won't make any sense unless you've played JK first.

I felt that MOTS took JK and improved it greatly, but I like the original JK better. It's kind of like comparing Zelda the Occarina of Time to Majora's Mask. The sequel improved the original, but I love the original so much more.
I'm also probably one of the two people that thought the live action cutscenes in JK were AWESOME.

The action cutscenes never worked for me very well, so I can't say (evil black blocks and stuttering). But I sure liked them more than the 3d animated ones from MotS.

I haven't played more than a few minutes of MotS, but it's close to the top of my very cluttered plans. I liked the original JK a lot, so I'm guessing I have quite a bit to look forward to
As for the cutscenes - I have the same problem, with the wierdish black stuff. Years ago in the Windows 98 days they worked for me though, I remember that. I liked them for games with graphics like JK's, but in a modern game I'd much prefer 3D animated ones. Somehow the change in detail is only effective if it's drastic enough.

Live-action video game cutscenes were a fad. Digital video was new and CD storage capacity (vs. floppies) was new. LucasArts put a lot of effort into it for JK and Rebel Assault II, but even if they had had the budget to do TV/film-quality scenes, it would still be jarring to shift from the game engine, to something else, and back.
The way cutscenes these days are performed real-time in the game engine, or prerendered to look the same, feels much more appropriate.
