is there a trick?

Yeah, that one's extremely difficult. If you can't get it by crouch-jumping or jump-crouching, try this: crouch and move forward while placing an IM mine underneath yourself. Hopefully it won't kill you and shoot you up into the shaft . . . I haven't tried it in a long time, so I'm not 100% sure it even works. But let's hope Smile

I just tried it and got it on the fifth try.

Although my copy of DF has some problem with 4u-wide corridors. Maybe it's machine based.

Now another riddle in stage VII I have troubles accessing this secret room:

I need to jump on the top of two blocks

other than blowing myself with a mine I don't see any way to access that part =/

But I want to make a perfect quest without taking any damage. So is there a safe way to get there?

Sometimes I wonder why the devs mind was so twisted. Twisted Evil

That's the Ewok in Ramsees Hed I think. From what I can remember it involves flipping a switch and running like crazy.

Yeah, I vaguely remember finding that by accident and not damaging myself in the process but I dunno. Ramsees Hed wasn't my favorite level in DF so I seldom play it.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLO
I just found the way to do it by trying the most random & craziest things while going nutts on my chair over it XD

Jump on the F1 box (1) run and do the craziest jump of the game to reach the F2 box (2)

I think the devs of dark forces are the craziest devs I have ever seen XD

And I am only on the mission 7, I wonder whatever other oddities await me till the last boss.

sorry for the double post

I still wonder if the devs have even considered this jump as an option...

there is no less than 4 shields on top of the floor2 box

maybe they only considered the blow oneself with mine possibility whith shieled on top to restore damages...

It's not that hard... Just got it on my first try, and then three times in a row. After opening the wall of the secret, hop on top of the crate across the walkway (fig. 1 in your picture), press your back against the Southeast corner, turn on your map, rotate until the red player icon overlays the 90° angle where the back wall meets the box containing the secret, then perform a running jump. Works every time by me.

Plus, you may want to shrink that image a little, as a courtesy. (Being a message board moderator elsewhere, I'm very much used to editing others' posts in these circumstances; thus, I would normally would do it for you. Razz)

too bad you didn't post earlier while I was looking for an answer to the riddle Laughing

also it's easy to brag on forum that you did it 100 times in a row, but it means nothing as long as you don't post a video Laughing

I'd post a response video to that, but not until you've completed mission 9. Wink

If that's where I think it is, I think you just fall off the side?

I'll go check it out. Are you using the PSX or PC version?

EDIT: Ok, here's the solution. There's a certain conveyor belt that you get on in the level. I think there's a few other secret areas that are accessed through it. The area you're trying to get into has its windows in the conveyor's wall. All you have to do is crouch jump through them. Here's a screenshot:

It's not on the same layer as the secret area, so the map isn't very useful. Just watch the left walls in the direction of the belt, you'll see it.

I am so glad the website is finally back

I've been stuck in level 10 for days

I could not hit that switch while falling to get access to the last secret room:

I really tried over 100 times and failed each time

It's a real nightmare

Is there a trick into it?

Please help a desesperate buddy ;_;

Yes. Stand underneath it (approximately in the position where you would stand to switch it on), and then drop an IM mine and wait for its explosion to launch you in the air - if correctly done, you will have a fraction of a second to flick the switch. Of course, make sure you've got plenty of health & shields, as a mine blast makes some considerable damage.

If you want to minimize damage, use a thermal detonator.

damn I haven't lost a single point of heath/shield thro the whole level so I didn't even considered blowing myself XD (nice demo Weregoose)

besides the faq at gamefaqs was stating that the switch could be hit while falling, o misquiding faq!

Now I understand was there's a pack of mines nearby.

Now the best part is there is not a single thing inside that secret room except from a sewer monster to kill

I told you the desighers of this game are mad XD

At least I can now proceed to the next level which seems a lot more action packed Very Happy

The FAQ is misguiding: the switch appears above Kyle before he is even able to throw it.

Hi ! Now I 'm stuck in a circular room of stage XII Very Happy

The problem is : I shot down storm troopersas they come in the room but now I killed over a hundred of them yet they keep coming Mad

So my question is: is there an end to this or are the storm troopers unlimitedly regenerated? so far in the game there were never places with unlimited/regenerated enemies

Tak Base has unlimited ST's, Anoat City has an infinite number of robots topside, Gromas Mines generates a whole extra buttload of Stormtroopers, Nar Shaddaa spawns Grans, Jabba's Ship shuttles a neverending supply of axe-weilding Gamorrean Guards, and the restaurant at the Fuel Station must have a kitchen the size of the universe to cater to all of its customers' needs... I'll stop there, plus I might have missed a couple along the way.

What difficulty did you say you were playing on?
