Why didn't Lucasarts think of continuity then? The Kyle model in JK doesn't even look like the Kyle actor in JK. Where is the beard? I agree with Klasodeth. Personally I hate the Kyle of JK and JA, I think making Kyle a jedi was a lazy thing to do storywise. Of course everybody wanted a Star Wars FPS with a lighsaber and Jedi Powers, but just deciding that one day Kyle would all of a sudden become a Jedi was dumb and lazy.

Please keep DarkXL as a remake of DF. Don't bother referencing any of the inferior sequels, and please don't make Kyle look like that dick from the JK cutscenes.

Kyle just came out of the Imperial academy. He should be in his 20s. The artwork makes him look like he's in his 50s. Just reduce the wrinkles and everything will be fine.

According to Wookieepedia he was 22 when he was in DF. Somehow that just doesn't seem right.

Not to be obvious, but how about Harrison Ford? Don't you think the original Kyle was supposed to emulate Han Solo?

Yeah. In the mission briefing for Talay, Jan references "the old days". It's implied Kyle used to do work like this with Jan... I'm guessing for the Empire.

Actually, according to the bio in the Dark Forces manual, Jan met Kyle several years after he joined the special operations division of the Imperial Army. That suggests that he graduated from the academy at least five years before, probably more. Also, the manual indicates that the Rebellion has employed Kyle's services on several separate occasions. That also is likely to add a few years. I'd say Kyle should be in his mid-thirties at least. Of course, while I disagree about the age, I still agree that he could stand to have some wrinkle reduction.

Seriously, what are the chances of a kid single-handedly taking on the Empire? It would never happen.

Hey, even in the original game "the force is strong with Katarn." And it's possible there was some time between skyhook and the DT project.

But I've always thought early 30s, even though the continuity flies everywhere thanks to retcons.

Not without flying into battle with dozens of rebel fighters, and not without some last-minute assistance from a freighter pilot.

Not to mention the force, with training from Yoda. I'd say, even if Kyle was strong in the force, his mercenary skills would still require quite a bit of rigorous training to put him at the level he's at in Dark Forces. Probably a lot more than the Imperial academy gave him, too, seeing how wimpy stormtroopers (and all the other Imps Kyle encounters before the DT project) are.

Pumpkinetics is correct though - the cutscene between Skyhook and Talay clearly shows that time has passed between the two events. Kyle and Jan hadn't worked together between then either, because he only then asks for her assistance on the Talay mission. This is probably the time when a lot of his independent mercenary activities roughen him up.

Luke didn't meet Yoda yet. He had almost no force training at this point. He was blasting Stormtroopers left and right without a scratch, when does a farmboy get that good with a blaster, especially an imperial blaster?

I think Imperial blasters get a bad rap. It's not the fault of the blasters that Stormtroopers are required to miss shots when dramatically necessary.

As for Luke himself, I'm sure any farm boy with nothing better to do--especially one who's been known to pass the time by shooting at Womp Rats while flying his T-16--might very well find himself logging quite a bit of trigger time behind a blaster.

And one bout of angsting in the twilight of the twin suns. Very important. Can't get enough maincharacterichlorians otherwise.

I agree he should look like he does in DF but if there's a way to do that and respect canon, like maybe make his eye and hair color and complexion match Jason Court, that's all for the better. LucasArts kind of screwed it up themselves in that the poly model in JK matched the DF artwork more than the actor, including not having a beard, lol. I never understood how that happened.

Tsophika's model is exceptionally good. The only parts that don't match the DF artwork are too much chin and forehead and this overlay shows that.

Oddly enough, that image does make him appear younger. I think the pixels just needed to be smoothed out a bit.
