I stumbled onto DarkXL after googling for some compatability help with the steam version of DF, and all I can say is "Awesome!" I can't wait for the next update, but even before it comes out I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Lucius. I majorly appreciate the hard work! Thank you!

Lucius rules the roost, around here. I'm pretty sure he's unanimously loved, or at least I'd like to think so. But yes, he deserves a thank you, for all of his efforts.

If you have problems with DF running too slow, try this:

If you want to remap the keys, you need to run install.exe inside of DOSBox (unfortunately LucasArts did not provide an easy way to do this, even though it would be trivial to provide an option in Steam!)

Thanks for the suggestions. I'd never used dosbox before, and I was trying to figure out a way to run it in a window (the default res stretched out on a 20" monitor was becoming painful). Remapping the keys would be great, too, but at his point I'm just looking forward to darkxl.
