Has anyone found a way of integrating DarkXL's installation with Dark Frontend at all? If not...
someone's gonna have to remind me how to launch custom levels. In detail. I've been using DFrontend for ages now and I forget what all has to be copied where and all that jazz.

Just unzip all the contents to the Dark directory. If you have Dark installed on the C: drive, and darkxl in a subfolder, to run in DarkXl open your command prompt and type
c:\dark\darkxl\darkxl.exe -ulevel.gob
where level is the name of your gobfile.

I'll check out the new launcher as well, Mazz.
EDIT: Trying to tell Knight where DarkXL lives is proving frustrating. I navigate to the DarkXL subdirectory and am told, "DarkXL was not detected in that folder". I tried a DarkXL subdirectory under the Dark directory as well as one just in my C drive. Was the EXE name changed when we went to a new release, maybe?

Oops, it's a bug, it'll be fixed in the next release.
Close Knight and open up %LOCALAPPDATA%\The MAZZTer\Knight (on Vista 7) or %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Local Settings\The MAZZTer\Knight (on XP) and open options.xml in Notepad.
Near the top should be something like this:
| Code: | <option name="DarkForcesDarkXLPath" xmlns="mzzt:options">
<value xsi:type="xsd:string">D:\Programs\Games\DarkXL</value>
</option> |
Change the path to your DarkXL path. Start Knight and you should be able to go into Options and select Dark XL.

Well, we're getting closer anyway. LFDs aren't getting copied over but that I can fix manually. Are cheats able to be enabled in DarkXL? I tried asteroid and ended up spawned below the cargo ship, and I sure missed my LANTFH.

I suggest using my new launcher, Knight, which can integrate with either DarkXL or Dark Frontend.

Wait a minute, when did you finish this? I don't remember hearing about it.
Edit: Although a little late, topic moved. Seemed more of a general discussion question than news.
