Has any one analyzed dark.exe with a hex editor?
I really want to know were the weapons strength and fire rate is; In the df-specs it said that some unlisted elevators are in there so someone has taken a gander

I don't know if anyone still active in the community has done it. I'm sure someone did at some point to write the DF Specs...

There was somebody who went at it a few years back and was planning big things. I could be wrong but I think it was CarGo95. I don't think anything ever came of it.

i've decompiled dark.exe, its written in plan c with the watcom compiler. but i don't know what im looking at. one of the arguments must be it. however looking at a bunch of a+b=c if not or else statements is near indecipherable.

The name I remember is Omega, but I also remember his being a Mac guy, so I'm not sure. It might be possible to find his posts in the archives, and maybe his contact info.

You can learn a little about weapon strengths by setting up scenery objects with PLAYER logic and shooting them - the player receives the damage from the shot. Scape Goat made a showcase level called Multi-PLAYERs demonstrating it. lucius has also probably done some investigation for DarkXL.
