I'm looking for some content packs. There's a whole bunch of content downloads at http://df-21.net/downloads/. There are some that replace the original WAXes, 3DOs, etc. and there are some user-created things. Each is available singly, and there aren't any collections that replace the entire original folder or folders available for download at once. I know some of these require two parts (e.g. WAXes require VOBs).
I want a collection of all the improved WAXes, etc. with none of the bonus add-ons for stuff that never appeared in the original game (e.g. a swoop trooper). The collection should include the original files that never had improved replacement content made for them. This way, you could get DF from Steam, DXL from Lucius, and a collection of all the improved content from a central file. This would probably be separate from DXL for ease of updating the collection.
There are some files that contradict each other, so someone will have to pick which one is the best out of the two or more different versions that have been made of the same thing (e.g. Imperial officers).
Aside from the original content, there should be a "bonus content" collection that has all the user created content made so far. There are maps by different authors, characters not seen in the original series, weapons different from the original ones, etc. that can and should be consolidated into a single "expansion pack" that is at least as easy to install as DarkXL is.

Cool idea! Let us know when you've compiled one.

The best I can probably do is to review, pick out the best, and package the WAXes. I'm not familiar with the more complicated stuff. I haven't gotten beyond level 3 in either version yet, so it's going to be a while before I can take them for a spin.

On the subject of improved .waxes, did anyone successfully make a .wax with a higher pixel resolution or any increased number of frames (different sub-.wax poses)?
Barry, could you perhaps post your (admittedly flawed) high-resolution Stormtooper .wax?
