I know, since I own a mac, I don't need a BAT file or CMP files. But I was curious, do PCs require a CMP file? And if they do, how do I make one? SBoT is in its later stages of completion and I'm trying to wind it all down. I have already made the BAT file.

yes, PCs require one. You don't want to make one, you want to copy one. Find one called secbase.cmp and copy it into your GOB. You should be able to find it, if Mac DF doesn't have it, inside some other custom level's GOB.

CMP files aren't used my the Mac version of DF? Does that mean it runs in 24-bit color, instead of using only the .PAL file's colors?

Well, they use them, I think what they mean is that there must be one present in a GOB file for a PC to run it. Mac would just pick the acording CMP, IE the SECBAS CMP for a SECBASE level.
I don't know if that is entirly right...

Can you edit PAL/CMP files on the Mac?
