Has anyone ever got this message when trying to run The Dark Tide I GOB file?

Error: out of memory (wanted 36 bytes) 8.0, - 40.0) Lies on wall of sector
#841

I checked out sector #841 and found a scenery WAX on one of the sector's vertice coordinates, so I moved the sector. The problem with checking this is that my machine doesn't produce the above error- someone else's does. So I don't know if my solution will work. The strange thing is that the coordinate pair listed aren't part of the sector's existing vertices (well- -40.0 is, but not 8.0).

Nope, and my machine's pretty archaic. Laughing

Yeah, I am pretty sure that I have gotten that problem before.

Tom, could you check and see if you get that problem now with DT1SE.GOB?

If you do maybe I could send the revised GOB for you to test.

That looks like two errors mixed together by bad bounds checking on a string somewhere. You have an out of memory error (probably relevant) and the sector error.

Also, I think there should be 3 coordinates there, so you may have y and z, with a missing x.

I won't have time today because I am about to go to church, but I could check and get back to you. The only problem is I am running on a 56k modem and don't get more that 23k, could you maybe just send the .LEV file and I could switch the files in the GOB or is there a reason that would not work?

Well, I was getting e-mails from a Mac user, and I couldn't figure out why he was getting the error. It turns out he was trying to run the game from the CD itself. Once he did a proper installation, including putting the DF app on the hard drive, it all finally worked out. Thanks guys.
