If you're like me and were prepared to ask somebody like Matt H if he can do a cutscene for you, READ PETER KLASSEN'S FRIGGING TUTORIAL @ http://www.jediknight.net/darkfall/dfarts/scenemkr.html . You just WON'T believe how EASY MAKING CUTSCENES IS. It'S SO EASY! EASY!!!!!!! Even I got mine to work based off of his explanation!

Of course you all knew about this already, right? Wink

Well, I agree they are not so difficult as some people have claimed. The main problem is that there's no really good, simple editor for them, but everything has to be done manually.
I've already finished a few films for my next DF mission. Nothing special, though - far worse than what Haslow&Hallaron Productions is capable of.

Well Hallaron can actually draw...

Yes, but not about what I'm not saying anything about. Smile I'm just saying that while it is true I'm saying something, I'm only saying it about something I'm saying it about, and not about anything I'm not saying anything about.

I'm guessing it has something to do with this from the project The Eyes of Thrawn:

Kir Kanos, I am very very glad to hear that you read the article and gave it a try. (You too, Fish.) Few people seem to give it the effort. Fortunately someone occassionally brings up that Klassen article and its value. That article and Carl Kenner's cutscene description are some of the best DF cutscene information resources out there.

Basic cutscenes really aren't that difficult to do. And if people are willing to try to learn how to do them, I'm happy to give advice and try to help them as they do it.

Okay, I got the basics of making simple cutscenes with full animation months ago, so all you guys who actually know what you are doing have no excuse to not add scenes to your levels, now!

You have some options:

Buy a cheap PC. You could probably find an old Pentium (or even a 486) that would work just fine for the PC-only stuff, and it wouldn't cost much. Places to look include surplus stores, garage sales, the Salvation Army, computer resale shops, eBay... those are the type of old machines some people might be willing to give away.

Find a friend with a PC to help you run/convert things.

Get a PC emulator for your Mac. Information about them can be found at http://www.emulation.net. There are several free options available.

Learn some programming skills and write then some cutscene utilities for the Mac

Offer Brad Oliver a lot of money to write them for you.

But I'll tell you, there aren't suddenly going to be any new Mac cutscene utilities appearing just by asking "What about us on the Mac?" over and over again.
