Okay, I know it's been a while, and you all are probably irked at my progress, but within the past 6 hours, I have nearly completed Spice Bust on Taloron! This is not something to spike your interest, I am dead serious. And it is nearly complete because I finally got the complete sector bug worked out so now when I make a runthrough of the level, I can actually complete it! It could actually be released now, but there are just a couple more things I want to do before I release, so expect it either this week, or late next week. I'm not kidding this time.

Oh, Nottheking, I am almost done with the Briefing LFDs etc etc. I will send them to you this week so you can convert it all to one LFD.

Things left to do:

1: More item placement (Mainly enemies on different skill levels)

2: Sounds

3: Minor retexturing

4: Finish Briefing stuff

After that, it's ready for beta testing!!

Then the release will be issued soon after if not too many lethal errors are reported (really bad ones, not HoMs or gliches that can't be done much about).

Sorry to make you all wait like this, but it will all pay off soon, trust me.

Glad to know that you got the INF worked out. I'll be happy to convert the LFD materials; just make sure to post here when you E-mail them (I have so many addresses, I don't check each daily). Of course, I'll also be glad to beta test it if you'd like.

...Also, I might reccomend using multiple PLAYER logics to add that little "Fweee!!!" effect on Hard.

Certainly. The way I have it in NTK_SB.GOB has TWO "spirits" that are set to PLAYER. One, there only on "easy" or "medium", is a normal player spirit. The other (only there on "hard")has the "LOGIC: PLAYER" line three times. This makes you take tripple normal damage on the "hard" setting. Coupled with the endless swarm of stormies (eight generators in the main first-floor room), this makes things considerably more challenging than what players normally get out of "hard".

To go wth it, I made a .ANIM background where I changed the settings to "easy", "brave" and "jedi" to better reflect the actualy play. However, I can't get the game to accept it...

logisticaly what happens is this.

Type: Logic: PLAYER three times instead of one.

now, instead of one player, you are three, so each time you get shot, instead of loseing ten health points, you lose thirty, ten for each "player" there is one very importent side effect, when the player takes damage from the explosion, the heighth the player flys in multiplied greatly, with as little as three player logics a mine can send you as high as possible, I would recommend you try it before using it, and if you do, only use mines in areas with a low ceiling and don't use grans at all.

Interesting. Maybe I'll incorporate that and not have to worry about different enemy placements in different skill levels. Although playing a sidequest with that mode may be lethal. It may make things more interesting though.

I found out that the force that the player is tossed with is determined by the ammount of damage sustained. Thus, multiplying player logics allows for the player to be thrown even higher, as you won't need four IM mines to throw you up 16 DFU; you only need one. (The first mine damages you, but doesn't get you anywhere terribly high with normal settings) I found out that IM mines allow for you to get into a secret area in my level in a different way then I intended, but I decided to leave it alone.

I might not reccomend leaving out explosives as much as possible; my level had multiple concussion commandos. I would suggest that you make sure that you have no chance of flinging yourself above the set "ceiling" elevation in "sky" sectors, as I found out that doing so flings the player up an extra 100DFU, which makes it particullarly wierd, unless you've actually been hit by dozens of explosions simultaneously.

Well, in RL of course, before you flew that high you would be millions of particals and a rather nasty goo, so you would have no knowledge of your flight, but then, realisim is not nearly as cool.

Also, there IS a way to minimize any distance HOMing you may see... just split any long walls in the area (I don't reccomend having any walls more than 64DFU long, and I try to keep walls 32DFU or less).

I am pleased to announce that Spice Bust on Taloron is finally complete Mr. Green ! However, I still need to get the LFD stuff finished before I can release it. Your wait is nearly over so expect it out next week (and I'm not lying this time).

If you look at my profile, I work at a third party motorcycle retail store in a remote town in the middle of nowhere (kinda redundant if you think about it). The only thing I really do there is sit behind a counter for 6 hours and hope nobody steals anything. We don't get much walk in because a majority of what we do is online sales. I don't know if the site is back up or not, but you can check it out.

I'm currently in charge of putting stuff up for sale on the website so I've been a little bit more busy than usual. And I start my next semester tomorrow in college so progress on those LFDs might be slower than I would want.

Actually, I could use some really cool sounds that could easily replace a the repeater. At this time, I'm using the sounds from the gyrojet, but I need something a little bit more hardcore. Pretty much anything that seems like it was a cross between a 50. and a laser beam. Just send me a whole bunch of weapon sounds and I'll see what use I can make out of them. Whatever I don't use here will undoubtedly be used in my next series. But other than that, that's pretty much all I need.

But if you want to do some future sounds for me, I need a female voice to replace all the Dark Trooper Phase 1 sounds except the sword.

A 50 calibre pistol or rifle. A Desert Eagle is a .50. In other words, it could leave a nasty wound if you were to be shot by one.
