Actually, I think that multiple of them might have been me. I've looked at this thread, realized that I can do nothing to help you, and then left, forgetting completely about the subject. The next time I visit, I forget what this thread was about (and why it has recieved 0 replies), and thus look at it again... Sorry about that.

You should've tried doing a Google image search for "banana.gif". It showed up on page 34 or so. (If you really want something, you should be willing to put in a little work to find it and not be so quick to whine about it. But this time you instead have to put up with me scolding you about it.)

Google should refine their image engine so that you can limit it to specific types of files, so that:
    A. you don't have to type the file name into the search bar.

    B. You can limit your search to animated GIFs, or JPEGs that only have green colorblocked (the worst color to degrade...)

(EDIT: Does this mean that we might have another episode of "Attack of the Bananas"?)

A has long since been implemented....I think it was that way since its inception. There's no reason to have to type the filename into the search engine; the engine will look at surrounding text and alternate text, I believe. B is feasible, I don't know why it hasn't been implemented. You could probably just put the extension into the search field.

By A, I was refering to an additional field, so you could search for *.gif, and have it return only results that match other terms in the surrounding text as specified by the searcher. Of course, you COULD just type both the filename and the keywords into the bar, but that wouldn't be as efficient, as Google doesnt necessarily return only sites that matched all of the terms...
