I don't know if I'll release the first level of Armoured Threat. I may compact it all into one mission which is the second one. The first one is just too random. But I might just keep it and see if I can't use a city theme for something else.
But as for AT2, It shows much more promise. It's based during a storm in a jungle. It will have a few areas where it will be based underwater, and have a tie in to Rebel Assualt 2 (But that's all that I'm going to say ). I'm trying to decide whether or not to make a wax of an underwater dianoga using a gammorean guard logic or some crazy looking fish to populate the swamps. I will also be using Kevin Buscemi's famous Mailocs, but I may alter that wax to make it look a little cleaner. The rain effect I've created looks great so far and I've made diving and surfacing available and easy to use. It will be a fun and entertaining level. I might release AT1 as a demo, but it will probably not be released. I apologize to all of you who were looking forward to it. I'll take screenies of what I have going for AT2 though so stay tuned!

Wow! My God! I'm getting requests to hurry up with this already! That's great for me! Actually, I sat down today and decided what silly stuff I wanted to put in before I get too carried away, and I think I'll give you all a release date of the end of this month.
Yes, when I took the screenshots I never had an intention of showing what had been done.
Just get off the BB, and finish it!

You're not planning to release AT1?
...Oh well, you can always release it later as a "prequel"...

...I feel somewhat the same in regards to the first of my two levels... I would much rather ditch the first, but I seriously need it, because while it has 10% of the flavor between the two, it has 90% of the plot... And I've drawn out both to be huge...

AT1 didn't really have much of a plot though, and it was so random. To tell the truth, I made it really just to see what I was capable of doing. And now that I know what I can do, I have been putting ll of my new skills into AT2. But like I said earlier, I might make it based on something else. Like Maybe the New Republic needs to get rid of a big crimelord who's selling some spice that causes people to go berserk and die horibbly. Not only would it work well for a ciy, but it's in the perfect place. I'd really just have to replace a few BM's, change some text, and alter some 3DOs a bit. But for now, that level is on hold until I figure out what to do with it.

Yes, sir!
Hey, if it's a Reb II tie-in, make a crack about Rookie One's lousy haircut.

Think about it Kir Kanos....
it's a Rebel Assualt 2....TIE in.
That should give a better clue of what it will be tying in to.

Yeah, the first of the two projects was really more of me testing out things... It passed 2400 sectors, then I deleted all but 38 sectors... I could post some decent screenshots soon, but first I need to figure out how to make effective 3DOs to replace some of the sector arcitecture... I went WAY overboard with the adjoin count in one area...

I know what you mean. I still have the level, but I haven't touched it in about 2 months. I'm having a lot more fun with AT2 anyway.
YES! I WILL MAKE IT SO YOU ESCAPE IN A TIE PHANTOM! But the reason you do is just the tip of the iceberg.

The V-38 is one of the coolest ideas ever. A pity nobody except us fans have done anything else with it.
CAKEWALK STATUS UPDATE:
Now, for your reading pleasure, you can view Jan's briefing so you know what you're in for!
OPERATION CAKEWALK
KYLE LIKES CAKE!
BACKGROUND INFORMATIONAL TYPE THING
Prepare for the most dangerous and ridiculous assignment of your life, Kyle! As you know, today is Emperor Palpatine’s birthday. He is throwing an expensive birthday party at Imperial Pizza Land – where a maniacal galactic dictator can be a maniacal galactic dictator - and Palpy is inviting all his best friends for super happy fun times! It’s going to be the best birthday party ever! Everybody who is anybody is going to be there! You just won’t believe how very cool a party it’s going to be!
Unfortunately, the Rebels weren’t invited, so they have hired you to ruin the Emperor’s birthday. The call is from heroism! Will you accept the charges?
THE DARK TIDE WITH BLEACH
The Rebels have provided a completely unrelated secret entrance you can use to start your mission. Many Bothans died to bring you this information. Don’t feel bad, they’re Bothans! Ha!
This entrance leads to the sinister Imperial Television Studio, where the Empire films all of its propaganda and upbeat situation comedy drama sitcoms and their popular reality show “Survivor: Civilian Atrocity.”
The first phase of your attack is to travel through time using Darth Vader’s secret time travelling equipment hidden behind crates of twenty-year-old cheese. Once you travel through time, you will have to fight the Southern United States and win the Civil War for General Grant – be warned that Robert E. Lee is expecting you and has set up an elaborate trap.
What does this have to do with the Emperor’s Birthday, you may ask? Well, we have to damage the existing time stream in order to even get close enough to his birthday party. It’s that secure!
Speaking of which, the Emperor has hired legendary bounty hunter Boba Fatt to kill you. Boba Fatt, you may recall, was involved in the Great Lard Heist where he stole 4000 pounds of lard and then ate it all himself. His arse is so big his ship is called Slave 112 Extra Large.
Also, even though you killed him, General Rom Mohc has built a new type of Stormtrooper for the Empire: the TOILET TROOPER! These guys are dangerous, and stay fresh and sanitary for 2000 flushes. The Emperor has posted these mechanized porcelain warriors of screaming death as bouncers outside Imperial Pizza Land, so beware!
MISSION
Anyway, once you do all this stuff and get to the Emperor’s birthday, your mission is to steal the Emperor’s birthday cake and then run away really fast before the millions of loyal Imperial personnel attending the party see you.
Usually I say something funny about now to relieve the air of doom and futility, but it’s been nice knowing you Kyle. See you in hell.
Now I’m off to go have a shower, and I know about your stupid X2-Cam, you pervert!
MISSION GOALS
- Do that other stuff.
- Get to the Emperor’s Birthday Party at Imperial Pizza Land.
- Steal the Emperor’s Cake.
- HOLY snap! RUN!

That briefing fits the mission perfectly... Only one question: How does winning the civil war for for the north damage the time stream? Just curious

Also, another question: Where'd you get the background music for the cutscenes? Are they original? They seem to sound somewhat familliar... It may just be me...

The Civil War bit is a lame excuse for me to put in some references to one of my hobbies, and really it serves no other point than pure comedy. You'll see. You'll see.
That music that plays during the cutscenes is as follows:
1. (During Vader and Palpy's conversation) "We've only just begun." Which goes "We've only just begun, to liiiive, white lace and promises, a kiss for luck and we're on our way."
2. "I'm on top of the world" by the Carpenters, as in "I'm on top of the world, lookin', down on creation, and the only expalantion I can find, is the love that I've found ever since you've been around. Your love put me on the top of the world!" Sweetums.

I guess it wasn't just me, then. I got that too, so I guess I'll have to upload it again.

I downloaded it now using the link you gave. But still, the software reports "directory structure corrupt", and rejects extracting GOB correctly. The text file seems to be in order.
When I try to unzip it using the prehistoric DOS PKUNZIP, it reports a CRC failure. Anyway, I still can't play it.
Could the problem be related to local settings anyhow? I've tried 5 computers around here so far, and none was able to decompress the cakedemo.zip.

Redownload. Try using a download manager (IE stinks at downloading... if I download is cut off, it's like "Hey user, I see it got cut off, but it's not really cut off, it really ws that small!" Give me a break).

The zip seems to work perfectly fine for me... And I doubt that the file would corrupt on the server.
How big id the file you get? It should be 2.16MB (2,213 KB). As ZZTer said, IE is infamous for assuming that the it's done downloading, when in fact it's not... But in my case, the fragment happens to take up 0KB...

The cakedemo.zip I downloaded weighs 2265758 bytes. It can be open in WinZip (and PowerArchiver and WinRar), reports four packed files:
Cakecut.Lfd; 2357180 bytes
Cakewalk.Bat; 26 bytes
Cakewalk.Gob; 1602008 bytes
Cakewalk.Txt; 1407 bytes
In all mentioned utilities, computer reports a CRC failure on Cakewalk.gob.
Can someone perhaps upload a version zipped using some other utility, or even a raw gob+lfd?

Well, the problem has been solved. I have downloaded the zip using the link given in the other discussion about the same topic, in the DF editing/levels. It works fine now, thanks.

That was quite strange... Did the links reference different files? If so, my bet would've been that the one here is corrupted... If not, I haven't a flippin' clue.
