...who's working on a Dark Forces-related project at the moment (and what is it)? I know there's at least seven missions underway, but I'm just casually wondering if anyone else is working on something.
(I suppose you could consider this an informal survey of DF editing activity, circa early 2004.)
As for me, well... I'm not exactly working on anything at the moment, but would like to maybe start up a semi-serious project come this summer.
By the way: are there any choices I forgot to put on the poll?

I'm slowly working on a project...I don't like using my XP machine for editing, because it doesn't run DF well. I do a little editing at a time...I've done some concept sketches, too. I'd rather not give out too many details about the project so far, but BB and AlexG have been helping me off and on.

I've got Jedi Crystal, a six level series, on the way, and level 1 is very close to being finished. Depending on my priorities and college schedule, I could get the first level done by this weekend.
I'm with you on the whole computer issue though Casey, I use a PowerMac G4 for school and internet and I kept my old beige PowerMac G3 for DF. For some reason, DF just doesn't want to work to full capacity on the G4. But that's the only purpose that computer serves for me right now.

Actually, I'm thinking of dropping "The Third Death Star". It's not turning out too well... I will definately have to try something else tho... something a little less complicated (so keep my project page up).

Very bad poll, I'm afraid. No option for DF related software.

I'm technically "working" on a pair of missions (the first two in a series), but chances are all of you will never live to see the first reach completion, especially since most of my editing energy is going to a JK series.
In case you were just starting to feel a little bit more comfortable, be aware that when I finish the JK levels (level 1 is ~55% complete, and level 2 is ~7% complete), I will return to editing DF. It's just that my JK levels are turning out better than my DF levels(at least comparatively, thank you PH/MH/BB...), so I don't have much incentive to work with DF. Of course, if a certain project that doesn't classify under one of the above options was completed, I might be far more convinced...

Whoops -- good point, Mattias. I've amended the poll, adding an option for "yes, DF-related software" and "no, but maybe in the future."

I am, but my stupid computer just stopped loading Windows. First I thought my harddrive was wiped, but DOS works fine...
*Starts to download DFUSE*

Cloudspear is actually coming along pretty well.
I've finally broken through years of indecision and, for a change, know what I'm doing. All that's left to deal with is object placement, several story INF sequences, the briefing, the OBJ screen, and my own inherent laziness.

Ah, Man! I won't be able to compete with that!
Damn SBoT for breaking itself .

Don't worry, BG... Scape Goat's "inherent laziness" should be enough to keep Cloudspear out of the way long enough... Just get back and repair SBoT...
As for me, I think I'd post screenies, as soon as I can remember (and withold from being "lazy" toward DF) to upload some... They're not enough to compete with the DT IV shots, but I think they're the best scenes ever made without custom materials... (read: I have yet to make/find any decent textures)

|
|
General List:
1 showcase level, in the truest sense as it is a gallery/used DF component shop. The working name is "Watto's" and I have the concept 90% planned and blocked out. All that remains is construction and item placement.
1 showcase mission to try my hand at advanced architecture and multiple levels. This is a demo, indoors, version on a much smaller scale than I hope the finished model to be. The original concept was to make the point of view at multiple altitudes be the primary strategy of the mission with the challenge being not to fall off of an average of 40-60dfu between each of 6 altitudes. However, I have yet to find a way to defeat the Homm monster without upgrading to JO Code Name: Gall
3 New BMs for my showcase mission if I can get the PAL to co-operate (more to come on the project page).
Also, several DF related programs including a web based automated mission loader, patch applicator, and ideas to help improve DF-21.net.
Please feel free to ask for more details on any of these...

Could you please describe the level in more detail? It sounds interesting...
...As for your HOMing problem, try not to have quite so many adjoins visible at once. If I remember correctly, if you have more than 32 adjoins visible through other afjoins, you will experience HOMing. I've made soem complex maps, and have managed to work my way arround this problem.
If you're experiencing distance HOMing, try splitting any un-adjoined walls into smaller sections, prefferably 32 DFU or less.
