Could someone please tell me how to edit my damned project page!? I've been wanting to do stuff to it for a while but I've never made a webpage before.

You've never made a webpage before? Wow. I would reccomend learning HTML, if you don't already know it (but learning it usually entails making a webpage or two). You already know how it works; the PHPBB code/UBB code works just like HTML, only they use different backets.

That doesn't help me very much.

I presume you want to use multiple pages...

Anyway, your folder is:

http://df-21.net/projects/james/

You need to make your webpages, and remember to create your links so that they correctly reference other pages. For example, You have an index page (main page), as well as a page for each of the levels in Jedi Crystal, you might name them the following:
  • Index.html
  • Level_1.html
  • Level_2.html
  • Level_3.html
  • Level_4.html
  • Level_5.html
  • Level_6.html
Then, you would log into your account at the project pages, and then Upload them. Assuming you're not using any directories, links to each page would look like the following:
  • Main Page: <A href = "http://df-21.net/projects/james/index.html">
  • Level 1: <A href = "http://df-21.net/projects/james/Level_1.html">
  • Level 2: <A href = "http://df-21.net/projects/james/Level_2.html">
  • Level 3: <A href = "http://df-21.net/projects/james/Level_3.html">
  • Level 4: <A href = "http://df-21.net/projects/james/Level_4.html">
  • Level 5: <A href = "http://df-21.net/projects/james/Level_5.html">
  • Level 6: <A href = "http://df-21.net/projects/james/Level_6.html">

AS for learning HTML, there are countless tutorials you can get across the
Internet. You should have no problem finding plenty enough of them.

I used this one a long time ago - possibly even before I used AOL. Kind of surprising that it's still up. They don't make 'em like they used to.

That's shorter, but just covers some basic formatting for forum posts. It doesn't mention the tags needed for a stand-alone page.

Sr. Web Designer/Developer at your service; and I barter too! Take a l66k at what I have so far on my project page here:

http://df-21.net/projects/cory_buford/

then feel free to check out my qualifications here:

http://www.gwmo.com/qualifications

and let me know what you need. The only roadblock is that I'm having trouble getting my level to load so I can take some screen shots as described here:

http://forums.df-21.net/viewtopic.php_t=312

Perhaps we could help each other out quid-pro-quo!

May the Force be with you...always...

Thanks for the offer, I'll keep that in mind for the future.

However, Scapegoat, would it be possible to link to my page from the following?

http://df-21.net/projects/james/index.htm

For some reason, the link will only go this far and bring up the "Under Construction" message.

http://df-21.net/projects/james

If you could re-link it, or fix it for me, I would appreciate it.

I just went in and fixed your index page quickly... I made a copy of "index.htm" and simply renamed it "index.html" -- that "L" is very important!

You can keep your other pages as "htm"... or "html," that's fine, too. The choice is up to you, really. But anytime you want to have an index page for, say, "www.whateveritis.com/subfolder/" you have to have an "index.htmL" (not ".htm") in order to have it redirect to that page.

By the way, the project's looking good! I would suggest, if you can, however, that you use, say, Microsoft FrontPage instead of Microsoft Word (I used the latter during my interim as webmaster)... you won't get those odd characters (Ős or És) with FrontPage.

Lookin' good!!

Thanks for the advice and complements Jackson Very Happy

Here, do this though, because it's still not working. Go to the project area and click on my project. It will bring up the "Under Construction" message. Can you fix that so it goes to my main page and not the false UC default page? I don't understand why it's doing that.

It was working for me yesterday, and it's working today. In fact, the old "Under Construction" page doesn't even exist in your directory. Maybe you just need to refresh the page or something? There is no problem as far as I can tell.

There seems to be nothing wrong... I go to:

http://df-21.net/projects/james

...And I get the correct project page...
