Greetings to all from a befuddled newbie. (probably not a word...? ) I've only just stepped into the world of DF editing and in the course of making my first level I've run aground an odd problem. There's a wall connecting two sectors in my level which the player can't get through; everything appears as normal, except for a dreaded INVISBLE WALL (hence the name of this post). I must have checked everything a zillion times; all the adjoin/mirror values are ok, what the hell is going on? I just made the sector the same way as every other one, by extruding from the one before. Btw I'm using WDFUSE.

Welcome to DF-21
Is the wall flag 3 set to anything other than 0? If so that will be causing your problem; change it by double-clicking on the value and turn off "CANNOT WALK THROUGH WALL".
If it's not that, try teleporting into the sector using LANTFH and see if you can move around. If you can't, what you have is two vertices in the same place. Delete one of them and the problem will be fixed.
Any help?

Another possibility is that the adjoin for those walls got messed up somehow (it happens). Best way to check that is to make sure the mirror, adjoin and ...something else, are the right values. Easier than checking is to delete that wall and create the wall again and readjoin the two.

Yes, check all the flags for the sector and both sides of the adjoined walls. And do the LANTFH thing... if you don't know how, turn on your map with TAB, and hold ` and use the arrow keys and shift to move around the map. When you get the red icon where you want to teleport, release the keys and type lantfh.
Now, if you can't move around in your sector, chances are that you have a vertex ontop of another (as was said). Here's how to find it in any editor... I use WDFUSE:
Go to wall mode, select any wall. Hit the next wall key (N in WDFUSE) until you find what looks like juist a dot. Zoom in on it. if it is indeed a dot, you have found your verticies ontop of each other. Delete the wall, and do a quick check to make sure there are no more. Then save and gob and test your level.

I have had a similar problem with invisible walls in sectors

Thanks for the advice peoples. Turned out to be the said vertex-on-top of another problem, everything is running smoothly now.
