This is "the" level that, despite all the critics about its length, stands unmatched in its drama - at least in my opinion. It has its minor flaws, but the pure experience of playing it is fascinating, even after I've been spoiled by the modern FPS games.

Out of all the Dark Forces levels, none have been more inspiring to me than Mt. Kurek. The atmosphere and story alone are really what makes this level great. Right from the get-go with the Crow leaving Kyle on a cliff with a lightning strike close by, you know you're in for a wild ride. And what a ride it is.
Everything is very intricately and carefully detailed with everything falling into place as it should. But if I could praise anything more, it would be the use of INF scripting.
The story was believable and fit the Star Wars atmosphere perfectly. The fight at the end was epic and memorable, and even more so, the Escape. Yes, I capitalized the E on purpose.
And honestly, my only gripe was an INF script error that at least on a mac caused the game to crash and quit near the end (but since it's not really that big of a deal I just deleted the script and all was well). I honestly could find nothing that would cause me to think anything less of this level.
Overall, this is a level everyone must have in there collection and you would be a fool to think otherwise. This level really is legendary and lives on as a very fond memory in the DF world.
10/10
