Glee! Mr. Green

Just made me a set of hotkeys!

:: Says goodbye to hours of going to the menu and back ::

Unfortunately, I could have used them most before I had finished the level. Oh well. I will for the next one.

Are you still working on Armored Threat, using your second level?

Yeah, but the name has been changed yet again Confused . It is now Prelude to the Phantom Wink .

But I also came up with a really cool idea for a new mini series I wamt to do. I went over the plot again and it's kind of a mix between Jedi Knight and Indiana Jones. It should be really fun to work on.

But more details on that later. I need to finish Spice Bust on Taloron first.

I figured out how to setup new hotkeys for menu commands, but I can't figure out how to make shortcuts for switching between tools. I want to make a shortcut that switches to the grabber hand as long as the space bar is pressed.

Any clues?

Yeah, I was looking for the same thing, I wanted to make a key that would open the sector tool, it would make stairs and stuff easier.

I don't think it's possible with ResEdit. I dimly recall there being a shortcut like this in the editor, but I guess not. I'll add it to the TODO list.

Here's another suggestion, a way to retrieve source files from LFDs. That would help mac'ers in making briefings, etc.

Although I can't try it, doesn't GobViewer do that?

Hmm... Then that could probably be added, since I think that both GOB and LFD files are almost alike in their formats...

Mac user looking for help on DF Level Editing
Confused
Does a manual exist for Dark Forge/DF Gold?
I have the DarkForge Editing Spellbook parts
1 and 2 but they only cover the early basics!

If not, can someone tell me how to do these

1) Waterfalls. I've selected Scroll Top, Middle and Bottom tx in wall flags,
and added a script to the sector, but I still can't get it to work.
2) Moving sectors;
-Vertical moving, (eg, big doors, elevators, platforms, crushers)
-Horizontal moving, (eg, sliding doors, gates, platforms, shuttles)
-Rotating (eg, the rotating arms in Talay Tak Base - level 02)
In particular, can you tell me how to make a floating shuttle like the one
in the Detention Centre (level 06)
3) Switches to activate things. I can see that there's an event mask but I do
not know how to use it.
4) Level goals. How do I make it so I pick up Jan and the level ends
or return to the starting area and the level ends? How to I determine the
mission goals?
5) Bridges. (eg, over the mines trap in Detention Centre, or in the first level
of Don DF42) I think it's something to do with 2nd altitude, but not sure.

In general, these are simple components which are used in levels.
I am useless, not even being able to implement a simple elevator
with a switch given that even a 1 star candidate can manage this.
old skool confusion
Thankyou for your help!!! Cool

I can't remember where it is, look in tutroials in the download section, but there is a file that outlines how to do many of the INF tricks out there.

You're probably thinking of either INFTIPZ or INF and GOL Tutorials

Although WDFUSE and Darke Forge are for different computers, the INF language is the same. So it really doesn't matter which tutorial you use.

Sorry, I probably hijacked this thread there...I'm still getting the hang of this messaging lark. Wink INF and GOL tuturials were really useful, so thanks for your help. Very Happy I'll be working on it...(after my exams of course) Cool
