I am running a computer with Windows 2000. In order to get the music and sound to work, I had to download VDMS to emulate the sound. The problem I have is, how do I get WDFUSE to run DF through VDMS? It only seems to be able to run straight through the executable (rather than through the shortcut that enables the VDMS sound). Can anyone help me with this?

btw, I've actually been here before. I posted here a little bit a couple of years ago. It's been so long that my account went inactive or something. Of course, I was still pretty much a noob to this site then...
If I make any obnoxious noob mistakes, please slap me.

Yeah, you can use VDMS with a batch. Unfortunately, WDFUSE uses a shortcut (which is a pif extension) to run DF, which you can't run VDMS through. I tried to change the WDFUSE shortcut to run through the shortcut that VDMS creates, but you can't have a shortcut to a shortcut.

Then it seems the solution would be to use a shortcut that points to a batch file, as I know shortcuts can reference .BATs.

The problem is the batch file would have to reference to the VDMS shortcut, and that doesn't seem to work. Anyway, I'm not sure how to configure WDFUSE to run through anything but the actual DF executable.
