Since Barry posted some screens of The Dark Tide IV, I guess I should show these also. The story takes place aboard the Empire's surveillance skyhook, The Invisor, anchored above Coruscant, in case its news to you. I know all of the screenshots look fantastic, but what amount of gameplay and challenge do you expect the episode to provide? How big will each of the levels be, in comparison to other levels?

I believe so! Also, I wonder if Anterak City will ever be finished... That could easily compete with the DT series, judging from the equally stunning screenshots I've seen.

I wonder what has become of that other project I heard about, Armoured Threat... I saw some fairly nice screenshots there... And judging from the author's notes on it, it was looking to be a pretty good series... It'd be too bad if it never made it to release...

Gameplay? If you have a keyboard then the episode will provide plenty of that.

Challenge? The end of level 1 may very well knock you on your arse. The mini level will possibly be a puzzler.

How big? I measure this in how long it takes me to run through it, knowing exactly what to do and where and when to do it. Each level will probably take about 20 minutes to run through once you have already played it. I don't play many other levels these days, except Barry and Matt's levels from The Dark Tide IV. So playing through the whole of Episode III, including cutscenes, might take an hour.

That was my project. It's me, James. Remember?

I actually might scrap that level and use it for something else now. Or I'll release it as a demo level or something.

Do you mean something like NTK SECBASE and Ironfort, respectively?

Okay, then it would be decently long enough... Are there plenty of branch-offs that can add another hour (or more!), and while nice, are not required to beat the level?

There really aren't too many side quests planned for the episode. It takes me so long just to get the main gameplay paths done that I lose interest in a lot of extras, and after Episode I I really don't like them much anyhow.

I really haven't looked too hard at the new Secret Base levels, but I guarantee the end of level 1 is something no one has seen before in DF.

It would probably be right above Mousebot, requiring 10000 posts...

As far as branch-offs, I didn't mean side quests, just places that had no mission value. In other words, a place for the player to get lost, and go the wrong direction, thus allowing you to show off dazzling scenes, without having to actually build onto the mission/plot in those areas.

Man it gets lonely playing DF all the time! Laughing I actually havent installed it for about 2 MONTHS NOW!! There's definitely a difference in my life because of it, too. Mostly because I'm too busy doing other career/life related stuff now...

Both episodes of the Dark Tide so far have just been awesome - entirely flawless - and from what we've seen of the next two, the series is going to keep that up.

I have a very important request to make, though. PLEASE KILL PREFECT TALMONT IN A GRUESOME CUTSCENE. Thank yoy.

Talmont is so damn bitch-slap worthy.

And I agree that Talmont needs to die or something.. hehe... even if you just show the Rebels staging a siege, under the command of Dash Rendar and Luke Skywalker (it would make sense that they would try to rescue Kyle... it might also explain how Luke and Kyle are friends in JO and JA). They would, of course, arrive right after the shuttles lept into hyperspace... I myself would rather see Talmont captured, a prisoner of the New Republic. Muhahaha...

Unless, of course, Talmont makes an appearance later in your script...but if not, I say, BLOW UP HIS FORTRESS!!! Mr. Green Mr. Green Mr. Green Mr. Green
