This question is mostly directed at ScapeGoat. Are we, we being the community, going to have the moderator nominations again?

Why? Most of the moderators aren't yet even near the end of their 5-year term. And besides, I believe most of them are going to be elected for the 2nd time.

I could help Nottheking moderate the Open Project forum if need be Wink

Do NathanWilson and AlexG still come to this site? AlexG's last post was December of last year and NathanWilson's was October 2003. It may just be me, but I like to see moderators more actively participating in discussions.

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to get things up to date, since some of the moderators aren't regular visitors anymore.

Hey! How are you supposed to know my secret identity?! Shocked I'm supposed to be a mere "Kell Dragon," (not a DT I like all the other mods) how could anybody figure it out?

Actually, it seems like a lot of people no longer come to this site. Even I don't come here as often anymore, perhaps only every other day, instead of every day. (I also am an active member of several other forums, actively play a good variety of massively multiplayer games online, and also have a real life...) Even Mattias Welander, I noticed, hasn't shown here in a few months...

This forum is a democracy? I thought it was a sort of benign joint dictatorship, as there was no popular vote, and no one really did much of anything... (and I'm not just pointing fingers at Scape Goat here)

Dude, the Open Project forum says "Moderated by Nottheking" and you have added messages to other peoples' posts. Also, I'm just cool like that Cool Wink

Yes, quite a few regulars left (or at least stopped posting) after this. Shocked You didn't even post in that thread!

Blast! I was hoping you wouldn't notice! My plan for world domination has faild! But I still have enough power to destroy you! (and no, that's not a typo in there)

I felt like I "didn't want to get involved" with that. Considered posting there several times, then thought better of it. I prefer political discussions in real life, as I've found them to be far easier to be effective with.

I still do visit DF-21 each day. It's true that many people left, what I find bad, whether one specifically likes them or not. I alone have less motivation to work on my DF level if I see there are less people who will play it, comment it, analyse it, etc. And the flow of new members doesn't seem to recover the loss of the old ones.

Somewhere along the line, we turned into a friendlier version of Cuba... I blame everybody but me.

Of course you can't be to blame for much of anything, really... You're Scape Goat, after all. Of course, as you quoted in Beyond Glory 2, "All evil requires to suceed is for good men to do nothing." Or something along that lines. (I never can remember the exact wording of that quote...)

At this point, you have to have realistic expectations. After all, we are talking about a severely outdated, 10 year old game that doesn't run all that well on newer computers. Remember that more people will play a level than those at the this board.

Then again, by the standards of this site, a good portion of the people still here come "fairly frequently." Razz

Very true; I happen to know a few people that play Dark Forces, yet don't happen to come to this board at all. After all, even The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall (The other DF) happens to still have plenty of people playing it, and it's nowhere near as editable, and requires just as much tweaking to get it to work under Windows XP as does Dark Forces.

I too visit once or twice daily, but I don't know if I could be a moderator. I've only been coming here for about a year so I probably don't have any "seniority" over anyone, but I don't know if that even matters...

...oh forget it. Let's just make everyone moderators...that could be fun Razz Wink

Yes, we could watch the entire forum implode in real-time! Razz

Oh blah. I knew I'd forgotten something these past few years. Never could quite put my finger on it though.

You finally figured out what it was that was causing that awful smell to come from the basement? My guess would've been a dead pet.

Hang arround? What a sad life you must lead, if you actually bother to hang around at DF-21... Razz

I still visit frequently too, daily usually.

I don't really see the need for any more mods. There's not much to moderate anyway. Smile

"But Matt, you're a mod, of course you're going to say that!"

Well...yeah. Very Happy

And yet it took you 19 days to respond after the last post... At least I did much better, doing so only two days later! (and that was because I've had to study for what was perhaps the most insane exam week ever concocted, too bad it wasn't finals)

Likewise, I'm here every day, but I rarely post.

If anyone feels the forums need moderating and would like to volunteer their services, send a private message my way.

I'm here most days, but I pretty much only post on weekends.
