I know that most of the levels support the MAC system. But how do I find this out if I am not sure if it does support the system before I download it?

All levels except for Assassinate Darth Vader can be played on a mac. Just download the level, take out the GOB file, and drop it into Macgober that is included with the DF Gold Package. The GOB file will turn from a blank document to a DF document (shown with the telltale stormtrooper helmet). then just double click on it and play away! Ignore the .BAT file though, macers don't need them.
If you want to play with the mission briefing (I don't because I'm lazy), convert that file as well (by dropping it into Macgober). Then move the file to the DF Data Cutscenes folder and rename the briefing file to dfbrief.lfd but don't forget to move the original first, otherwise you'll have to reload it from the disk. I don't usually bother with it though because it's something that just gets in the way. Besides, the mission briefing usually is featured in the text file.
If you have more mac questions, feel free to ask me. I've been here for a while and know quite a bit. Have fun!

- You don't need to put dfbrief.lfd in the Cutscenes folder. The Dark Forces Data folder works fine.
- You don't actually need an extra program to convert the files to DF type/creator codes. You can just use ResEdit if you want.
- You can also run them without converting them. I did it by putting the dark.gob files into weapons.gob, and renaming each mod to dark.gob to install it. But there's probably no reason to do that.
