Well I got a user name at Community Webshots, so I thought I would post a link to my album showing off artwork, I can't post the pictures from her though, so here is a link, let me know what you think.

Nice gun, even though it is kind of bendy...

Thanks, maybe the gun is not military shapness, I drew it over a year ago, I think the clips and the hose that goes up over the scope.

Looking at it, it could use a litte cleaning up.

That looks fairly decent... Let's see you turn that into a 3-D model, and perhaps even provide it for use with J*!

I added a new picture I whipped up today, I think it looks pretty average, it is even more bendy than the gun, but someone might like it.

Ohh, and as for the gun, I hadn't thought about making a model, I have the trial of lightwave, but I havn't gotten very far with it, I have to borrow my dads mouse, I only have one button, he has two. I might try making it into a model, but someone else would need to fix it up for JA. . .

Any takers?

I believe that it might be easier to make it with Milkshape 3D... As far as I know, that program can make models for EVERYTHING... Including DF, JK, HL, Q3 and even DNF (J/K!). Unfortunately, it's not free... so it's not everything, oh well... Rolling Eyes

I can spot references to Back to the Future and Teenage Mutant Ninja/Hero Turtles in the graffiti. Nice one.

Is that Irish thing a shamrock or a four-leaf clover?

If I were to give you any tip on drawing it would be to draw more from observation, and not from your imagination. It's the only way to improve. I can't stress how important it is to observe the world around you. You must also try to see objects not in their own context, but as a collection of lines shapes and forms. You must un-learn what you have learned etc. etc. Often our ideas of what an object should look like cloud our perception. Pick any object, say a grenade, and set it down on a table. Now spend a few minutes doing quick sketches from different angles. Avoid looking at the page when you can, and try not to lift the pencil off the page if you can avoid it. Also, use large paper, and don't be afraid to fill the page. Draw big! It's how I learned how to draw properly. Forget that it's a grenade. Now keep this up and evenutally move on to 10 minute, 1/2 hour and 1 hour drawings. I can guarantee that if you to this, in a couple of months time you won't even recognise your own work. Oh, and make sure you invest in some nice thick black pencils, and try not to use an eraser. Leave mistakes on the page, they'll help you to see where you're going wrong.

Anyway, sorry about that lecture. Good luck.

Well, The back to the Future DMC was actully the Delorean, and what about the Teenage mutant turtals? I didn't have that in mind, what were you thinking of?

Also the Irish thing I guess was a four leaf clover, I got the idea from a guy who used to weree a big silver one on a necklace and claimed he was in a gang called the Irish Pride.

Also, as far as the lecture, thanks, that was the kind of feedback I was looking for. I will take that into consederation. Drawing is not something I spend a lot of time doing, but I like to and I might start getting into it more. I will keep what you said in mind.

Yeah, the Delorean, they built those in Ireland. I'm not in to cars in general, but I'd love to own one. The Turtles referenace was Raphaels Sai, which I saw in one of the pics. I don't know what to make of this irish ganag bullshit. 4 leaf clovers are just as (un)common here as in any other place, I assume.

Yeah, I would love a DeLorean to, I saw one on ebay for ten grand a while ago, and it only had five thousand miles.

As for the Sais, I wasn't thinking of that when I drew it. I wanted a pair badly after the Mummy Returns.

And the four leaf clover thing, the guy was kinda gay.

Oh, and thanks Bane, do you really like them?

Shading is really not that hard, and I just use an ordinary pencil, whatever I find laying around. I think the primary one I used for this was an NFL team pencil.

Pencil is one of those odd sorts of media that are used by beginners and are used by experts, but few inbetween. Pencil is easy to manipulate and use for beginners, but every once in a while a master will come along and use pencil for some awe-inspiring works. I've seen some. The average beginner, using a single pencil, can create some 5-6 different shades. An expert, using a set of as many as 10 pencils, can create a hundred different shades. Lines become nonexistent, and shading becomes practically lifelike.

So why did I write this post? To encourage you to keep using pencil, keep practicing, and remain excited about art. I lost my excitement about art some time ago, and thus lost any skill I may have had. Keep working, and someday you may be a master. Don't let art teachers destroy you.

Well, I don't have an art teacher, I am homeschooled (though I am not one of those geeky kind!) I mostly draw for fun, though I don't draw a whole lot. I don't think I will ever be a master, because I don't love it THAT much, I think that if it ever became work rather than a hobbie I would hate it.

Pencils are fun. I am shading a painting I'm making with them right now...Well, I'm shading the canvas & then I'll paint over it when I'm done, but a nice B&W framework should help. I'll post it when I'm done.

Is anyone here into photography? I started getting into it a little reacently, thbough I only have a digital camera, it is nice, but I can't put filters on it and I can even do manual focus, which kinda sucks. But I have a really cool trick I have been doing and the results are pretty nifty. I think maybe I will post a few of them here...

I'm into it. You can see a few of the ones I developed on my webshots account. I'll soon be posting my latest batch (if Jacob ever gets around to mailing me the bloody negatives that is Wink)
