Because using the default setup makes strafing with the < > keys very painful and whatnot. Thanks for the help guys.

Well, keep in mind that by default, holding <alt> while convert the arrow keys from turning to strafing. Additionally, the answer you want is that you have to run SETUP.EXE. (it may be called INSTALL.EXE if you did a hand-install) in there, one of the options will be an input configuration.

On XP, SETUP.EXE may appear to hang. This is because XP's DOS emulation sucks and it confuses SETUP. :p Just wait it out, eventually the menu will appear. You can press ALT+ENTER to stick it in a window while you wait (assuming it starts fullscreen).
