I was fiddling with the GOB file the other night, doing what Geoffrey S was telling me to do, but I still couldn't figure out why my computer kept freezing up. Then I thought, "Well, since I'm not actually in the level, it could't be that, so I ruled that out. Then I thought, "I haven't gotten any fatal error messages or anything, so it's not the game having a problem reading the file." Then I noticed that the cutscenes never loaded, and that's where my computer would always freeze up. So I went back to the GOB file and looked up the cutscene.lst and there was NOTHING in it. So I took a chance and deleted the file from the GOB file and.... IT WORKED!!!!!
So all you mac guys out there, I have solved the mystery. Just open ADV in Dark Forge ( Or Gobviewer ) and remove the cutscene.lst from the rest of the files and just run the level. It runs like a charm

Why can't you do it? It's really easy just to open the level in Dark Forge and delete the cutscene.lst from it.

Ohh, cause I'm to lazy to change all the names of everything. I mean I can do it, I just thought if you could put it in an email it would be easier. Its okay, I'll do it.

You don't have to change the names of anything! Just delete the cutscene.lst! Don't change anything else!

Does this mean it FINALLY can go into the Hall of Fame, like those other three LESS deserving candidates did some six months ago?

I removed the cutscenes.lst using dark forge, but then when I open the new file, it takes me to the secret base...?

If you removed the file using zipit, you may have corrupted the file. This is a common mistake and I've done it many times myself. It's just that you haven't decompressed it correctly.
OK, here's what you do. Open up the KILLVADER.zip file and you'll see the window with a txt file, GOB file, and the windows BAT file. On the right hand side of the window, you'll see a series of either white or black dots. I forgot what they are, but I know that you need to uncheck the GOB file in order to make it useable. I think unchecking it switches it to a mac binary file or vice-versa. One of the two.
When you're done with that, take your new GOB file and drop it in MacGober and open it in Dark Forge, remove the cutscene.lst, and you're good to go!
Hope that helped, let me know if it didn't work.

You ought to see them when you open the zip file with zipit (or a similar program). See also here.

Stuffit Expander will expand zips, OS 10.3 opens zips itself. Avoid ZipIt, never liked it very much. I opened kilvader.zip with OS X and Stuffit Expander and they both worked fine.

Brad Oliver posted an OS X version of his GobViewer, GobViewer 2.0.1. It's http://www.brad-oliver.com:8080/~boliver/GOBViewer_201.sit Open the kilvader.gob file with it, remove that cutscene.lst, then drag the folder onto Gobviewer to gob it back up.

Jereth emptied the cutscene.lst file so that it would not include any cutscenes from the game. In fact, I once created a set of cutscenes for that level as an add-on...
