This is a bit of a meatier chunk of text, that ought to demonstrate the quote function a bit better than the nested example above (which would look bad on any board, anyway). That's fantastic. No more fights over tangiential discussions. You can split the relevant posts to a separate thread.
What a feature.

Let's hope, however, that people don't go too nuts with this feature.
I also just found out another thread covered this. *sigh* Oh well.
I also thought I'd point out that we can now put a subject line in for each post as well.
I'll also point out that when I make updates, no "Updated on xx" message appears."
I mean I can go up here and change things, and it doesn't say that I changed it.

What, you mean when you edit a post?
I'm sure I saw that before.
Oh look, there's one:

That's slightly annoying... but I suppose it means that you can correct tpyos without getting too embarrassed about them.
The main point of showing that a post was edited was for the purpose of following a discussion anyway, so it's not too bad.
I wonder whether it shows up straight away if a moderator edits the last post on a thread. Of course I'll have to just slip into something more comfortable to test that.

Right, that will be something I'll look at changing. The post doesn't show a moderator's edit either.

fenwar...
pfenney...
I know its kind of infringing on folks, but could we make a request that as people register, they keep their name? I mean, fenwar might not be Fenwar. Maybe pfenney is Fenwar, or Fenwar is fenwar, or fenwar is Fenwar, or Fenwar is pfenney, or pfenney is fenwar...
See? Its confusing. So please, can we make that an unwritten policy or something? 4 months from now we could be saying, "You're Mattias Welander? I never knew!"

If it's an unwritten rule, how do we let people know?
I think most people will stick with their old names. But if they don't, I don't think it's any big deal. People have changed their name before (Casey, Taylor) and it was no biggie. In fact, I think that if people wanted to change their name, now is the perfect time to do so.
On a side note, I also think that if things aren't exactly like how they were that that's okay do. I think Fenwar has done a terrific job setting this up, trying to get it like the old site. But if it's not the same, it doesn't make it bad, just different. (People seem to be resistent to change - whenever the main site got reworked, it bugged some people because it wasn't like how it was.)
