I gotta say that bug hunting on Mac DF is a real pain in the arse. At least in OS X Classic mode. The slowing of sound effects is back, so I can't check the playing of sounds properly, they will have to remain as is on the PC version- that's probably OK.
The weird Mac DF stuff is as follows:
Suddenly for no apparent reason, DF was demanding that I send a message in a roundabout way from a trigger to an elevator via a dummy elevator. I figured this out after triggering the trigger and getting a "circular message" error. This happened in some sectors I had built literally years ago and hadn't touched since.
Secondly, after entering a sector DF decides to turn on my map overlay in game and it won't turn off. I have never heard of this problem anywhere in DF editing, so I am assuming its a bug caused by Classic OS 9 emulation.
If this error persists then Mac gamers are screwed, I just don't have time or ability to chase bugs of this nature.
Otherwise things are looking finished, I am just fine tuning levels 1-3 before building the final mini-level.

Well I'll gladly check out the level in Classic mode if you need help when this is released... to date I have never seen any of these errors that others seem to have in Mac DF. The only difference I've seen between running DF in os 9.0.4 is that the 256 colors are slightly different. Did any program files like DF or the map editing get corrupted somehow?

When Matt H has the time I will probably have him check things out. I believe he still has an old PowerMac 7600 on standby. Nothing is corrupted though, I have reinstalled stuff before- the slow sounds and other problems seem to crop up and then alleviate themselves at random.

during testing AoNS I ran into a weird overlay map related bug, in this case if I entered a certain sector with it switched on, the game appeared to freeze completely... until I turned it off again...
The problem was related to a generator which was triggered by that sector. (Removing the message to the generator stopped the problem, anyway).
Don't know if you could be getting a similar problem. If you do feel like bug hunting or if someone else takes it upon themselves to fix the mac version post-release then that would be a possible place to start, anyway.

Thanks Fenney, I'll keep an eye out for that. It does happen when I enter a trigger sector.
