Title : The Dark Tide: Episode II- Nightfall October 2001 Filename : DTIDE2.ZIP Author : Patrick Haslow & Matthew Hallaron Cutscenes : Matthew Hallaron & Patrick Haslow Email Address : pod15@owc.net / mhallaron@yahoo.com Tested by : Peter Klassen, Andrew Nagy (Darth Oosha) Description : The Dark Tide is an intended pentalogy of five episodes. In Episode I, Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors crash landed in the Jundland Wastelands of Taooine. While Kyle was rescued by Dash Rendar, Jan was ambushed and captured by the Empire. The second episode begins with Kyle Katarn rushing to the aid his friend. With his trusty bryar pistol and the Mark IV Goob Gun, Kyle must penetrate Tatooine's Imperial Garrison, and face a wily and corrupt officer. NOTE: This is in no way affiliated with the novels of a similiar name by Michael A. Stackpole. The Textcrawl: THE DARK TIDE Episode II: Nightfall It is a desperate hour for Kyle Katarn. While travelling to warn Luke Skywalker of impending danger, Kyle's ship was shot down over the skies of Tatooine. As Kyle scoured the Jundland Wastes in a dire search for a means of escape, his mission officer, Jan Ors, was ambushed and captured by the Empire. With the aid of fellow mercenary DASH RENDAR onboard the Outrider, Kyle now races across the desert towards the Imperial garrison to rescue his fallen comrade . . . . NOTE: You will have to allocate a LOT of memory to DF to allow this GOB to be run. This GOB contains many textured 3DOs which require a lot of memory and/or processor speed to run (and you still may face some drop in frame rate.) Or you may want to lower the detail level of the game slightly. (It's the price of progress...) On PC, extract all files into your main D.F. directory and run DTIDE2.BAT If you are a Mac user (may the force be with you) simply place DTIDE2.GOB in your Dark Forces Data folder and double-click it. Remember to MacGober it first! Also replace dfbrief.lfd with the new dfbrief.lfd (dt2brief.lfd) for new briefings, pda screens, etc. MWAIT.BM and MWAIT.PAL are the custom wait screens for the Mac, and should be renamed WAIT.BM and WAIT.PAL.
