No sound/music on Windows XP

I am running DF on an XP, but I can't get the sound to work. The express setup doesn't find anything either. What can I do to fix this?

Google VDMSound. Get the latest beta.

Thanks. I wish microsoft would make it easir to run older programs on Windows. Oh well.
