I've been playing DF since 1996 or '97, I think. A few years back I ran across this site and started playing the custom levels and watching the forums, but I've never posted before. So all you discouraged editors out there, don't forget about all of us non-posting members who are just as excited as everyone else to play your work. The DF community may be far larger than it appears.
Anyways, down to business. I've got an old PC with Win 98 set up on it, but I've never been able to get DF's sound to work very well on it. I used to be able to get sound with no MIDI music, but now that I've reinstalled DF in anticipation of DT III, I can't seem to get either to work. Any advice, particularly on how to get the music working? Is there anything I can download that will help?

You might need to set up DOS sound drivers I think. It's been a while since I've used a MS-DOS based system (Win98 runs on MS-DOS 7.1) so I can't really help you.
On the other hand, Windows might provide the sound drivers to DOS, I forget. :/
