Well, I'm still kind of alive, despite a job and life that would have me believe otherwise. I picked SWAT-TC back up, more to see if I even want to finish it, but more importantly I resumed work on a stealth mission I had started in 2005 and left hanging. We'll see where it takes me.

The biggest problem for me is the limited AI capability of the engine (i.e. it's all pre-programmed), so triggers in sectors and the like are what I'm stuck with for things like cameras and sneaking around people. I've yet to figure out a good and easily implemented approach, but I'm tinkering with some old coding work and may have found a decent way to 'knife' enemies and the like.

It's a known limitation of NTVDM (The DOS emulator that ships with NT/2K/XP/Vista). You'll have to either find a third party tool to help fix the problem (I recommend VDMSound but it doesn't completely fix everything) or find another solution.
