Well if you haven't heard of my Mod Manager for Dark Forces/Jedi Knight and sequels, you can grab it here.
Now, I was looking at my project, and preparing to port it to .NET 2.0, which features many improvements over the .NET 1.1 platform. I figured as long as I was porting it I might as well add in a new feature or two. So, I starting thinking of how I might rip off some of Steam's featureset to improve UJMM. Then I realized that I was missing Steam's critical ability to download, install, and play games from one program without having to open a webbrowser.
Now, I initially didn't include an in-program download feature because the original program I ripped off, Patch Commander for Jedi Knight, had one and it sorta sucked, so I didn't bother. I'm going to reverse my position now, but I'm also going to mix it up by using an RSS feed instead of an HTML page, as PC did.
So, here is what I have so far. Level picked as a sample was arbitrary (Unless it inspires Fish to find the level soundtrack ). I intend on having UJMM automatically download and install any mods, as well as tweak the occasional mod that needs tweaking to properly work with UJMM (KILVADER is one with it's 5 or so files that need renaming).
In this example, the fortquad.zip would only need to be directly downloaded into UJMM's Dark Forces Mods directory to work, as UJMM already has support for compressed mods in ZIPs.

That'd be a really nice feature; I love your mod manager as it is, and that would make it even better!

Whoops... I scrapped the RSS feature from UJMM a while ago since I hadn't done much work on it, and I want to fix it up for a final bug-free release. >_>
But I did that because I had already finished an RSS feature in a more generic game frontend. If I get around to adding Dark Forces / Jedi Knight / etc support to it it should replace UJMM and be just as good.

Thank you for making this mod manager, I am working my way back thru the entire narrative series of the SW games, which means KOTR I, II, JK III, JK II, JK DF II and MOS, and DF, and this is a great asset for helping with the mods which I am collecting too. Much appreciated.
