I just think that we need an "about" page on the left hand side along with the other pages. (Talking about the homepage here).

There really is no point in suggesting a page without also suggesting some content to go on the page...

It might seem quite obvious but it's more likely to end up happening the less work it ends up being for whoever does that stuff.

They'd have to make button images too, although since they would be more likely to have the original source files for the button images it'd be easier for them than someone else to make it.

If we did have an about page (I wouldn't really care personally since I already know too much about this place ) we'd want to put when DF-21 was founded, who founded it, a brief site history, a list of "firsts" maybe (first level posted, first tool posted, first members who joined who are still here).

There is a brief amount of "history" at the foot of the Contact page. Is that the sort of thing you had in mind (perhaps a little more prosaic?)

I think it was Jakob "I'm Right" Nielsen who said something along the lines of "if you need an "About" page, your homepage isn't doing its job". What's missing from our front page? Should it make the purpose of the site/community clearer?
