I just downloaded the darkxl demo and I was wondering if there is any way that I cild incorporate only the mouse look feature into my normal dark forces game. I would very much like to play this game with mouselook and I don't want to wait for the rest of the darkxl project to finish (seeing as how a temporary sense of nostalgia is why i am playing this game right now) if i dont have to. I don't need any other features of the project for the time being, but is it possible to use mouselook with this game at all?

I'm afraid that I don't have the original source code, so I cannot simply change the base game to add features. If you want to play Dark Forces with full mouse look then I'm afraid you'll have to wait for DarkXL. However there is a new build coming soon that'll have the first 3 levels playable (along with alot of other improvements) which may tide you over for a while.

There is some mouse control available in DF, basically you can use it for movement (forward/back + strafe) or use it for turning. Unfortunately it doesn't turn fast enough and has no look up/down support on the mouse so its not the same.

Also, thanks for trying the demo. If you want to share your experiences - bugs, issues, comments or whatever - feel free to post in the Alpha Demo thread. If you can answer the questions that would be even better but that's ok if you don't want to.Smile
