Hi!
I know this is a long shot and that the answer is probably no... but could DarkXL be one day used to run games like Jedi knight or MoTS? I'm asking this becouse I know that the original DF engine (Jedi?) was improved and used for JK and MoTS (Sith engine?).

AFAIK The Jedi Knight engine (called Sith) was written from scratch and was not based on the Jedi engine used in Dark Forces.
The differences between the resource files used by both games supports this. I've made levels for both engines and it's very different. Different texturing, different creation of architecture, different scripting languages, different everything.
I don't think one would even need to ask lucius before coming up with the answer of: "No. Not a chance." It's way outside the scope of DarkXL!

I'm afraid that The_Mega_ZZTer is correct. If I decided to give Jedi Knight similar treatment as Dark Forces, it'd be a seperate project. The only other game (that I know of) made with the Jedi engine was Outlaws. In fact many of the extended features (slopes, dual adjoins) were inspired by the Jedi extensions made for Outlaws.
So the answer is indeed 'no' at this point. Fortunately if you want an enhanced Jedi Knight experience, then you're in luck: http://www.jkhub.net/project/show.php_projid=242.

Oh right I forgot.
Jon`C from Massassi was working on something like this but he abandoned it. It's Open Source though.

Loading levels and COG works. IIRC it's just a free camera view thing ATM.

That would be awesome if someone would take that up, since Jedi Knight apparently hates my graphics card

More likely it hates Vista (which it does). I can only run it in windowed mode.
Do yourself a favor and reinstall XP. :p

Doesn't Microsoft realize when they make tiny subtle changes to their API they upset thousands upon thousands of retro-gamers!!?

Hmmm... Might have to downgrade my drivers. I wonder if that will have any ill effects of any other program I run though, Like the Source engine.
Edit: I read an article on LucasArts Forum that someone was able to solve the problem by downgrading the drivers for ATI Catalyst to 7.1 and everything worked just fine. So I'm going to give that a try and see what happens.

OOOOHHHH..... bummer.
Although I did install the Omega drivers and it sorta worked, although it created a House of Mirrors effect to end all HOM effects. Hurt my eyes to play.
Hopefully this issue can be corrected soon if at all. And thanks for letting me know that was what the problem was, I was having a hard time figuring that one out.

If you want to play JK with a newer video card, just buy a cheap yet powerful PCI video card. For example, I have a Radeon 6200 lying around that I'm going to put in my machine. Using the advanced settings I should be able to set JK to output to that video card. Then I can plug it into one of the secondary inputs on my monitor, so all I have to do to play is press a button on my monitor.
If you don't have a fancypants monitor like me, you could use a cheap KVM.
