So, for some reason I've been having these bouts of nostalgia from Dark Forces. Growing up, I had the demo version on my dad's PC running Windows 3.1, haha. I managed to find every secret and perfected those first three levels, but I snagged the full version just recently and managed to get the sound and everything working great.

My problem is this: Though I could remember how to shoot and bring up the Inventory and stuff, the controls for movement are pretty difficult to get the hang of. I was looking around for some way to modify the controls to a WASD configuration so that I could strafe more easily, but I think that would involve a hexadecimal editor. Does anyone have any experience with that sort of thing?

You can run SETUP.EXE which should be in the same directory as DARK.EXE. Then go to "Configure Controller Setup" and then "Configure Keyboard". You should be able to set up WASD controls, although you don't get full mouse look - unless you run DarkXL of course
