It would seem our beloved game has achieved 'antique' status.

Good thing I still have the copy I bought in '95.

Ha, more likely a pricing error.

Fortunately if you want the Jewel case and disc - and don't want digital distribution via steam for only $5 - there is this: "6 new from $34.92, 13 used from $3.87." So it looks like you can still get a reasonable price, for now at least.

I wonder does the $75 version include the oversized cardboard box. remember when games used to come in those?

In the last year or so, I've bought two Dark Forces CDs with complete jewel case artwork each for about five dollars shipped. I've also purchased a complete Dark Forces retail package in used but excellent condition for about ten dollars shipped. I'd expect Ebay to continue as a source for the real deal at reasonable prices if you are patient enough.

Why do you keep buying it? Are you one of those incredibly messy people who can never find anything?

I'm still planning to give away original copies of DF in a random prize drawing to promote DarkXL.

Hmm. I still have the retail box that I bought in '96. I found another box at the garbage dump (no CD but had the player's guidebook!). I only kept the second box for a couple years before tossing it. An interesting fact is that it had an orange barcode as opposed to the original tan one.
