Just wondering, (for my own site) how did you admins create that DF2000 forum and password protect it?

I don't believe it's too difficult... it's basically a matter of creating a forum and setting user permissions -- who can or can't access or post in the forum. I'd recommend checking your site's forum's F.A.Q. or administration panel for more information.
