You did specify the source drive, didn't you?

I'd just do a manual install, if I were you, by copying the files from the CD.

Well, as long as you don't tell us what it is that doesn't work, no one will be able to help you, unless they just by accident happen to tell you the right solution.

Okay. On a WinMe, I burned my DF folder. I then copied this onto a WinXP. I try running setup, to reconfigure the controls, and poof! Nothing happens.

Ah. So your question was how you configure the controls in Windows XP, not how you install DF.

Running SETUP, yeah. Did not I say this?

Actually, you did. And that's the problem:

A) The configuration tool for Dark Forces is called INSTALL, not SETUP.

B) The configuration tool is also the installation tool.

*cough*

And as for SETUP not doing anything, under Windows XP it appears to hang... but it isn't. Let it sit there for a few minutes, and the menu will pop up.

This may be a stupid question, but could this be a European thing? Like how the US and UK DF CDs have different veresions of the demo OSLT?

If I remember corrrectly, an instalation of DF installed "normally" (Via INSTALL.EXE on-disk), will leave a copy of the INSTALL in DF directory, and renames it setup... It may be the other way around... I'm a bit detached from my DF ::sniff::

3 things:

1) It is considered impolite to resurect old topics.
2) It is considered impolite to "hijak" (purposely drag off topic) threads.
3) Have a nice day.

Off topic? Did you even bother to figure out what his semi-coherent post was saying? I didn't, but it looked like he was replying to the thread.

I wish I could dig up some of my old forum posts and emails from when I was 11 (around the time Mysteries of the Sith was released). But for most people here, I don't need them to prove my point. You should, in general, use correct spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation; and go easy on the inline images, even when the number 7 is involved.

It wasn't the topic of his post either. Apparently his attention span is about how long it takes to type two paragraphs. And, as I mentioned before, not because he's 11.

All this new blood... What are old men like us supposed to do, Ooshie? Grow old and die?

Did I say what anyone was supposed to do? I thought I just complained that I didn't like what they were doing.

And now, not only are you the one taking the thread way off topic, you're only helping to distract people from your own problem running setup. You're the one who should've been "resurecting" the thread. What with this and that random Serious Sam comment, are you going senile or what?
