|
|
When I went to the Sector Flags Option to change my sector to an Exterior, I noticed that there where two Sector Flags I couldn’t use. The PLAYER and RENDERED option. What do these do, and how do I use them?
Thanks In Advance.

Perhaps someone's figured it out, but last time I checked, no one knew what those two options did. If such is still the case, I'd recommed not bothering with them, for who knows what could screw up.

Maybe if it has the PLAYER option, maybe the sector follows the player, like say you wanted to make a room that would randomly injure you in a certain area. Giving it the player option might make that sector react to the player's actions. I dunno though, that's my theory. One of us should experiment with that.

If I vaguely recall correctly, the "rendered" flag was mean to be part of something for adding slopes, but never made it. I very well could be wrong, though. As for the "Player" flag, I haven't a clue.

Yeah I can understand a feature not making it to the retail version. Originally DF was going to have 32 levels, but the designers only had a certain amount of time to finish so a lot of the levels and features where never added.

32 levels would have been really cool. Too bad the video game creators have deadlines. I say we set deadlines too, that way people wouldn't procrastinate on their projects (Scapegoat) .

I prefer to call it flexible management of time and resources.

Actually, what I recall was that DF was to have 15 levels, and only one was really cut... There were plenty of ideas for other levels, but they didn't even really get started before being dropped.

I do wish Lucas Arts they had spent more time with it, there's so many features that could have been added...
While Dreaming: Lucas Arts gives out the source code and the 32 level plots and lets df-21 members make it!
